Rising Stars: Meet Zach (MN) Moder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach (MN) Moder. Them and their team share their story with us below:

MN Moder (Zachary Moder) is far from your average 29-year-old. Having opened for legends in the hip-hop industry (Bone Thugs N Harmony, Tech N9ne, Twista to name a few), serving 4 years in the United States Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout (Combat Reconnaissance), working many odd jobs & formerly living a lifestyle of criminal activity, one thing’s for sure – he’s no stranger to adversity, life’s challenges & the harsh blows that it can deal us from time to time. Since going through his own series of trials and hard circumstances, he’s dedicated his life to his musical and personal aspirations, as well as helping others to do the same. Through overcoming those trials, tribulations, and challenging life obstacles, he’s learned an array of valuable life lessons and frames of mind to help him survive and prevail every time. He’s made it part of his purpose to share those messages with his listeners, which are cleverly laced throughout his rhyme schemes. His lyrics cover a wide array of knowledge and life experiences – a majority of it offering empowerment or insight, sourced from some of the darkest parts of his life. This, paired with the ability to compose and deliver catchy hooks, makes him a versatile artist with an ability to capture the minds of listeners in a way that is easy on the ears and adds substance to the art itself. Outside of music, Moder has been getting more involved with acting, modeling, and helping others through offering advice/insight that he’s labeled as “Modervation”. His main message is that you can overcome any obstacle and be the person you were meant to be instead of who other people or society might want or try to make you to be.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Anything but 😂 I’ve been homeless & lost everything multiple times to start over, laughed at and mocked when I had first started making music (as most of us do), had music/video accounts hacked and had a lot of people try to scam/steal/leech/piggyback me along the way for their own benefit, among others! All of this has made me that much more grateful for any progress that I’ve made and every opportunity I’m blessed with that much sweeter. Time, consistent effort and faith in yourself as well as your purpose are key in reaching your goals in life!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer, songwriter, recording artist, actor and part-time model. If I had to describe the kind of music I make, I’d say it’s a mix of Hip-Hop & R&B with a touch of pop. I specialize in my songwriting, especially my hooks! What sets me apart from other artists is being multi-dimensional with my music as well as having positive messages laced throughout it. For instance; I just dropped a 3 song EP on September 30th called “3’s Company” with 3 completely different vibes. One song is a crazy rap song (Psycho), another is a short one where I focus on dope wordplay (Christ Air – Produced by NorthWood Beats) and the last one (Red Light) is a sexy smooth joint that talks about telling people no in dating that aren’t good for you. Some things I’m proud of are when I’ve gotten to open for one of my favorite artists (Tech N9ne), being able to help raise money using my gifts for my mom, who’s currently battling breast cancer, and for never giving up on myself even when most people had when I was at my lowest point.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I make an effort to be happy for simply being alive, but that’s kind of a cliche answer, isn’t it? It really brings me joy to make people I care about smile, doing anything music/acting related, trying new things, going new places, and helping someone get through a tough time or situation by offering them insight or advice!
