Community Highlights: Meet Tynesha Warren of Tip Top Diva, Classy From Head To Toe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tynesha Warren.

Hi Tynesha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

Growing up in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. My mom was raising six kids by herself. My older sister taught me and my twin sister how to live on a budget and look fashionable. I used to shop at the crossroads mall at Deb, wet seal, Charlotte Russe, forever, 21, Rue 21 and RagStop.  By high school, a lot of those stores happen to hit bankruptcy or moved from out of the crossroads mall.
Now, Saint Cloud does not have many clothing stores for young teens and adults to choose from let alone a diverse store to fit everyone’s needs and styles. And that’s when I concluded why not just have my own clothing store where I can combined all my favorite stores into one. That’s when I began to brainstorm, and came up with Tip Top Diva, Classy From Head To Toe.
At first, I build it as a small project for school, but as time went on, I begin to realize my friends and family and local members of the Saint Cloud area started supporting my brand. At first I didn’t really notice the support until I stop getting new inventory and started focusing on events. Tip Top Diva story is just starting. It’s been one hell of a year but every accomplishment will soon be noticeable. My five year plan will be reached.

Well, my story began when I switched my major to Business Management, my last semester of getting my degree at Saint Cloud Technical and Community College. In the last three months before graduating and transferring to St. Cloud State University for my bachelor’s, I began the process of filing my paperwork in September 2021 for limited liability, corporation and registering my business name as TIP TOP DIVA LLC. In October, I found vendors for clothing and human hair (wigs). Communicating with vendors and online shopping was so therapeutic that I fell in love with online shopping even more. I was so excited about starting my small project while still in school! I couldn’t believe I had my own business. But most of all, December had to be the most exciting month for me because I had my first photoshoot with friends and family. I felt like we were kids again playing dress up in Tip Top Diva attire. Although the fun didn’t last too long because I knew it was more work to do. So by January 1, of 2022 Tip Top Diva store was up and running. I was so impressed with how many views the store was getting, and I knew this was just the beginning. With my next free paycheck, I hopped right back online and started shopping some more, but this time, I got new clothing and added accessories.

Although my mindset at the time was to start a small project while I was still in school, that way my instructors could guide me along the way if I ran into any bumps in the road. Currently, I have been taking the opportunity to use Tip Top Diva for my projects. An example would be, building a business plan, learning how to brand, marketing, business models, and of course, business law.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Most of my struggles along the way came from the lack of motivation of being successful, hearing negative feedback, or feeling overwhelmed in schoolwork, running a business, and juggling a full-time job along the way. At one point, I almost gave up after four months. Deep down inside, I know I would never forgive myself if I did. So I took a small break to focus on my courses. Then randomly in April of 2022, I got this amazing offer to go to LA for a Business 2 Business marketing expo (B2B). I packed my bags and took flight. Perfect timing.
