Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Kolstad.
Hi Kim, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been a French teacher in Minneapolis for 24 years. When I would have a stressful day, I would go home and bake. It has always been my favorite thing to do. In addition, I grew up in a Polish community in Canada and feel very connected to the food. Polish baking has always been a way to spiritually connect with those who I have lost.
I started teaching group fit at the YWCA about 10 years ago. Leading women in muscle training has been gratifying as it takes focus off of weight and puts the focus on muscle. I have also coached soccer in Minneapolis Public schools and have always enjoyed that role. #ywcampls.org
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am just beginning with my custom order business. I received my cottage license from Minnesota and am now trying to navigate my full time job, my part-time job at the YWCA, where I teach group fitness, and my new passion!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Besides teaching high school, teaching group fit and this new Polish Delights business, I also enjoy writing poetry and fiction. I am most known for being a teacher but I have a writing blog: KimDwrites.com.
Since my daughter is soon to graduate high school, I am trying to find creative ways to express myself. I enjoy being creative in any possible way and putting my experiences into words.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in good or bad luck.
