Community Highlights: Meet Artemisa Boston of Azteca Real Estate Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Artemisa Boston.

Artemisa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started selling Real Estate 22 years ago. I have been a disciplined person and I have worked a lot but when you love what you do and have a lot of passion about your job it feels a little lighter. I also don’t want people to read this article and think that the way to success is easy and fun. The shows on TV make it look so easy and so much money but the reality it is a constant sacrifice when you want to be the best in what you do. I feel I have been blessed and I appreciate at the same time everything that I have been able to accomplish. I have been 2 years number one Real Estate Latino in the US (by transactions/NAHREP) and the number one Real Estate Agent in MN (by transactions/Real Trends). I accomplished this by working hard but also implementing new systems so I have every area of my business covered (by my wonderful assistants). Making changes to my business model was scary but I did it and it worked out really well. Basically, instead of having a team of listing agents and selling agents, I decided to be the point of contact with all my clients so I am a solo agent with assistants and showing agents. This allows me to continue to give my clients the level of customer service they deserve while continuing to grow my client base.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been difficult to have a balance between my personal life and my business but I have been learning along the way and implementing things to have that balance. I learned to delegate duties among my assistants and that has helped me a lot. Also, the support of my husband and my kids has helped me tremendously.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Azteca Real Estate Group?
We are a little company with a little less than 20 people. 85% of our clients are Hispanics. Our model allows us to serve a lot of clients with a good and quality service. We have a lot of knowledge of programs we can refer clients for more information with down payment assistance. Also, we sell residential, commercial, land, etc.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Save before starting because you need to wait 2-3 months to receive your first commissions. Be constant and disciplined in what you are doing. Push yourself to be motivated and prepare for a lot of people saying no, eventually you will find your place in the world of Real Estate.
