Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Glass.
Hi Pierre, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always felt gifted since I was young. Always had a big imagination and felt the urge to be something in life. At the age of 9 one of my poems won a contest and was published in a book and known to be good at drawing. I started out as a Dj at the age of 14 but took more interest in rapping so I made the switch.
Had a successful run with music and made a name for me in the twin cities but slightly lost momentum when I did a short bid in prison in 2008. But honestly, I needed that break. A cold cell will make you think about life differently and it changed me for the better. Fast forward to now, I’m still heavy on the scene but just in different ways. I’ve done personal security for some of the biggest stars like 50 Cent, Jadakiss, and Polo G just to name a few. I’m involved with 3 different podcasts with Bx and Dj Strecho Thats about to launch, my media center opens in march and mobile car detailing starts in April and I can go on and on. My advice to you, believe in yourself, read as much as possible, and always work harder on yourself than you do at your job…
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
To be honest, I felt like I was cursed. My family has been through hell but we made it out ok. I’ve struggled with many things, including depression since I was a Youngin.
I’m one of the corner class kids they kept separate from the others. Seen staff do some unforgivable things and knew early that this world is sick. It wasn’t until I started working on myself that I realized what all that had done to me. Struggled with drugs, forgiveness, motivation, and much more.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Known for doing music and I specialize in a lot of things so it’s hard to put a title on it. But I’m known for me being myself, heavily invested in my health, and always pushing others to pursue wealth. Financial literacy was never taught and now that’s all I think about.
What I’m most proud of, is my babies and MYSELF!!! Because there were days I almost tapped but I’ll never do that to them. I often dream about how we all look when we are wealthy. I’m in heavy pursuit to make that my reality. What set me apart from others, I’m not a ball hog and I’m patient… but always knew I’m the one.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I have a love/hate relationship with this question. I like the opportunity that’s here. If you are someone that thinks outside the box and knows how to network you can easily make moves. I like the talent we have in the cities. Feel like we finna make our presence felt and there are already artists that are mingling with the stars.
What I hate, the hate we give each other. listen, I just had my ugly feet dipped in the sand in Fort Lauderdale, and it was a whole vibe out there. Here, you go downtown chances are you might see that place they call the upper room. So much hate it ain’t no fun here for real. Not saying it doesn’t happen there too but if you’re from Minnesota you know what I mean
Instead of getting behind each other with this music they rather not because it’s not them that’s doing it first. I believe us in our own way… and it’s starting to carry over to entrepreneurs going after each other.
