Hi Jamie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My interest in piercing began the first time I saw someone with one, I was immediately captivated. After getting many piercings myself, I tried to find an apprenticeship. I was unsuccessful so I went to college for graphic design &. Advertising art. With one semester left I was offered an apprenticeship and I have been doing it ever since. I became passionate about learning the craft and started my apprenticeship in 2001. Since then, my passion has only grown stronger, and I’ve dedicated myself to the art of piercing. I see piercings not only as a form of personal expression but also as a meaningful experience that clients carry with them. For many, piercings are a powerful way to express their identity and celebrate themselves, and being part of that journey is something I have deeply valued throughout my career.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I have faced plenty of hardships along the way, most of them out of my control. And while some still sting, every challenge has been worth it. I have weathered the storms and grown through them, not just as a business owner but as a person. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that not everyone has your best interests at heart. Too many times, I found myself working hard without getting the credit I deserved or being taken advantage. Those experiences inspired me to open my own studio, taking ownership of my future and building something on my own terms. Through it all, my clients have been my inspiration. Their trust and the relationships we have built kept me going. My love of piercing and the connections it creates have helped me persevere. I have risen from every setback with more clarity and strength.

Piercings have an incredible way of making people feel empowered and happy, and I get to be a part of that experience every day, with every piercing I do. I’m honored to be part of the story of someone’s personal journey.
I’m also proud that all of my hard work has built a space not only for clients, but for other piercers. A place where they can make a living in the kind of supportive, respectful environment I didn’t have the opportunity to experience myself. This brings an unexpected joy, purpose, and meaning to what I do.
