Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Flynn.
Jen, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
If you had told me a few years ago that I’d own and operate a health and wellness practice and a management company — I probably would have laughed.
Over the years, I’ve helped several people successfully launch their own companies and programs, watching them grow, thrive, and make an impact. But turning that same energy toward building something of my own? That took a big leap of faith — and, honestly, a lot of coffee.
My journey really started with my dad. He was a businessman through and through — building his company from the ground up with hard work, perseverance, and a deep respect for people.
I watched him lead with integrity. He cared about relationships more than fancy tools or shiny extras. He taught me that at the end of the day, people are what matter most. You can have all the systems in the world, but if you don’t value people, you don’t have much at all.
That lesson stuck with me.
I started out in physical therapy, graduating with my associate degree in 1995. I loved helping people heal and get back to living their lives, but over time, I realized my leadership skills were starting to rise to the surface. I found myself leading teams, managing clinics, and learning the business side of healthcare.
When my dad passed away in 2005, I hit a rough patch. He had always been my motivator and encourager, and losing him left a huge hole. I wasn’t sure what was next. But even in that hard season, I kept hearing his voice reminding me to keep moving forward — to keep doing better.
Over the years, I’ve helped successfully launch three other health and wellness companies and programs. I poured my heart into each one and learned so much along the way.
Then, on my 50th birthday, life threw me a curveball — I was laid off from a company I thought I’d retire from. It was a shock. But looking back, it was exactly what needed to happen.
I’ve always believed that God has a bigger plan, and this was one of those times. I could feel that something better — something bigger — was waiting just ahead. Not long after, my now business partner Emily Anderson asked me what I was going to do next. At the time, I honestly didn’t know. But that conversation sparked an idea, and soon we began to dream together.
That dream became Renew Precision Health.
Our goal is simple: to restore health by uncovering and addressing the root causes of illness, never just masking symptoms.
We take a personalized, whole-person approach — helping people identify imbalances in hormones, metabolism, energy, and overall wellness. We blend the best of functional and traditional medicine to guide every patient toward lasting vitality, resilience, and a better quality of life.
I truly believe that when people care for their health, they are better equipped to live fully and fulfill the purpose they were created for. That’s what Renew Precision Health is all about.
When I look back on this journey, it’s clear that every step — even the hard ones — led me right here. From my dad’s lessons in leadership and heart, to years in healthcare, to helping others launch their dreams, every experience shaped me into the business owner and leader I am today.
Starting my own business wasn’t part of the original plan. But now, I can’t imagine doing anything else.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any new business, there have definitely been some hurdles — both personally and professionally. Losing my dad in a car accident when I was 29 was one of the hardest seasons of my life. At the time, I was trying to balance being a wife, a mom, and working, all while processing that loss. Then, in my 40s, I went through my own health crisis with Lyme disease, You start to feel worn down, unsure of yourself, and it can be hard to find your footing again.
Through it all, though, I can look back and clearly see how every step was being guided — even when the road didn’t make sense at the time. Every challenge shaped me and prepared me for the work I’m doing now — each piece has fallen into place in a way that feels intentional.
Now that Renew Precision Health is growing and thriving, the challenges look different — and that’s something I’m grateful for. These days, our biggest focus is finding the right people to join our team.
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about what we do — people who align with our values, who care deeply about patients, and who feel called to make a difference in others’ lives. We want teammates who see this work as more than a job — who lead with compassion, integrity, and a genuine desire to help people heal and thrive.
Renew Precision Health was never meant to be driven by numbers or profit. It’s always been about people — meeting them where they are and walking alongside them toward better health and a better quality of life. I truly believe that as long as we stay faithful to that mission, God will continue to bring the right people to help us grow and carry it forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Renew Precision Health is so much more than a clinic — it’s a place where people finally feel seen, heard, and truly cared for. Our mission is to restore health by uncovering and addressing the root causes of illness, not just masking symptoms. We practice precision, functional medicine — blending the best of science and compassion to help our patients feel like themselves again.
I have to say, I couldn’t do this without my incredible co-founder and business partner, Emily Anderson. Emily is an absolute blessing. She’s knowledgeable, grounded, and has such a genuine heart for people. She brings a calm strength and wisdom to everything we do. We share the same vision — to help people heal through a personalized, faith-driven, whole-person approach. I’m so thankful for the partnership we have and the way God brought us together for this purpose.
We often see patients who have already been to their primary care provider, had lab work done, and been told that everything looks normal — yet they still don’t feel right.
What we do differently is take the time to do a deep dive. We look at the whole picture — from hormones, thyroid, and metabolism to gut health, environmental factors, and even emotional stressors.
We see both men and women who are struggling with hormone imbalances, chronic fatigue, thyroid disorders, Lyme disease, and a wide range of autoimmune issues. Our goal is to help people uncover the “why” behind what’s happening in their bodies and to guide them toward true, lasting healing.
What sets Renew Precision Health apart is the level of care and intention behind every visit. We don’t rush, we don’t guess, and we don’t just manage symptoms — we partner with our patients to find real answers.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that Renew Precision Health reflects everything Emily and I believe in: compassion, integrity, faith, and transformation. Our work isn’t just about medicine — it’s about renewal.
We want people to know that when they come to Renew, they’re not just another chart or test result. They’re individuals with stories, struggles, and purpose — and we’re here to walk beside them as they heal, grow, and rediscover their strength.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
It’s such an exciting season for us right now. After all the challenges, growth, and blessings that have shaped our journey, we’re adding even more! — one that’s all about community, collaboration, and continuing the mission of helping people live well from the inside out.
One of the biggest things we have coming up is The Living Well Expo, happening June 6th, 2026, right here in Minnesota. This event has been on my heart for a long time. It’s really about creating a space where people can find trusted sources for health and wellness — where they can learn, connect, and be inspired by others who are walking the same journey toward better health. We’re expecting space for over 500 attendees, which makes this the biggest event I’ve ever put on! It’s both exciting and a little scary — but in the best way.
We’ll be bringing in some incredible speakers who have powerful personal stories of healing and hope through functional medicine. Among them are Allison Evans, the founder of Branch Basics, and Nicki Koziarz, from Proverbs 31 Ministries. Both women have walked through serious health crises and found restoration through a holistic, faith-based approach to wellness. Their testimonies are truly inspiring, and I can’t wait for our community to hear from them.
The Living Well Expo isn’t just an event — it’s a movement toward living intentionally, caring for our bodies, and trusting that we are designed for healing. It’s about bringing together people who are passionate about wellness, faith, and community, and showing that when we support one another, we all thrive.
