Exploring Life & Business with Rebecca Benstead of Collective Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Benstead.

Hi Rebecca, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have worked with my gifts of intuition, deep listening, and reading energy since I was a small child. These gifts run in my family lineage. I took my first official bodywork training (Shiatsu Therapy when I was 20 years old. I continue to be a lifelong student and recently finished my Master’s degree in Holistic Health in 2024.

This medicine work continues to connect me to my community and myself. Every time that I’ve tried to do something else, the Universe guides me right back to this work and my practice.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve always enjoyed a few challenges, and the road hasn’t always been easy. It’s been a continuous cycling of shedding my own patterning and conditioning, so that I can offer this work in an authentic way. Becoming more visible and sharing my voice is so vulnerable, and it’s also pushed me to engage in new ways which feel rewarding. There will always be struggles, so living my practice with consistent attention to my breathwork practice, receiving bodywork and care, and staying connected to loved ones in community keeps me rooted and in my integrity.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Collective Wellness was founded in 2023, it started as a response to my research in graduate school around communal healing spaces for marginalized bodies. I felt called to offer my gifts to the community in a way that felt rooted in lineage and ancient body wisdom, while also using modern language, tools, and frameworks to make this knowledge more accessible for people in today’s world.

My practice started offering therapeutic bodywork and my sessions are usually intuitive and integrative, combining various modalities, such as Thai massage, Tok Sen, Reiki, and guided breath work. I also offer cupping sessions that include gua sha and moxibustion.

I’m currently growing as a practitioner and am offering a new virtual space, with 2 new sessions. These are beneficial for times of transition such as grief, loss, death, illness, or spiritual confusion. They are also wonderful for times when you need clarity, a listening ear, or simply a place to release stagnant emotions. These sessions are verbal, and use grounded, compassionate dialogue, combined with intuitive channeling, Oracle or Tarot cards, and guided breathing.

Sessions like these are complementary and work beautifully with other inner processing modalities such as therapy or bodywork and were created because of client’s wanting to process in-between what was happening during bodywork sessions.

I have engaged deeply in my own descent and I”m not afraid to travel to the Underworld with you. My strengths include the ability to be present with whatever comes up during your session, and my gifts of intuition, space-holding, and my abilities in observation and pattern recognition can help you to facilitate lasting transformation, rippling out into your own community.

I love my brand design, website, and images because they were all co-created with community members, clients, and chosen family.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m currently creating session packages for my existing and new clients who want to engage with a longer healing arc. These will include a combination of sessions for folks to explore in 3, 6, 12, and 2 year lengths.

As well, beloved partnerships are forming in my circle now, and plans are being made to host many more communal spaces, such as community care events, mini retreats, and medicine offerings for groups.
