Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Phillips.
Hi Bob, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since I was in high school, I’ve been involved in construction in one form or another. At one point while I was living in NY I was working for a paper mill. Due to the economy starting to fail, the company had a massive downsizing in where I was one of many that lost their jobs. I took that as an opportunity and started a construction company. It was a massive success. When I moved to MN, I decided to see if I could make a living out here doing the same thing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting out in this business is never a smooth road. More like a road that has craters instead of pot holes. Getting your name out there and having it be known as a good name with good work at a good price with reliability, is a massive obstacle to overcome.

My company is a licensed and fully insured contractor. We specialize in home remodeling and repair. We do everything from new construction to fixing a leaky faucet and everything in between. What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To develop a relationship with all my clients. Let them know that my company isn’t just a company. It’s a person within that company that understands their wants and needs and will be there to take care of them. Not just for that project but for any other project in the future.
