Meet Lisa Tostenson of Lisa Tostenson Interiors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Tostenson.

Hi Lisa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My faith got me started. After working in both the residential and commercial interior design industries, I discovered how much I love being a part of clients’ homes. There is nothing quite like being a part of the excitement and joy that homeowners feel when their space is finally a beautiful reflection of who they are. Faith in God’s idea to start my own residential interior design business is what lead me to where I am today. And after many success stories, I owe it all to Jesus who works all things together for my good.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been anything but smooth to learn how to develop my own business. One thing I never appreciated at my other jobs was that the hardest part had already been done for me by the time I walked through their doors! I didn’t have to do any of the back end work, advertising, or networking. That path had already been blazed by someone else who had grit and determination. All of those came with a learning curve. And though I’ve figured out a lot of that now, there will always be new learning curves with any new business.

We’ve been impressed with Lisa Tostenson Interiors, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What I want people to understand about my interior design business is that your likes and dislikes are very much a part of my design process and my services are tailored to you. I don’t only do one or two design styles, I can do them all, and it is a fun process to help my Clients know exactly what they really want. This is really priority number one for me and what I’m most proud of.

I do full-service interior design and project management for remodels or new builds, material selections, space planning, design consultations, paint consultations, and decorating. There is something for everyone. I specialize in full-service interior design projects. It’s here where the Clients have the biggest scope of work and where I feel there is the most impact for the Client.

What sets me apart from other designers is how I can design something that feels like my Client’s style while updating their space and bringing it to modern day. I bring the professional edge that many Client’s are in search of when designing their new or current home.

Something that could be helpful for people to know is that for full-service interior design projects, I charge a lump sum fee for my design and project management services. This way, there’s no wondering what your bill will be at the end of your project and you won’t be concerned about hourly design fees.

What makes you happy?
Reading the Bible has become more and more fascinating to me as I’ve gotten older. It is my source of life and it is truly “alive and active!!”
