Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Kelzenberg of Minneapolis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Kelzenberg.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started dancing as a four year old, started choreographing around age twelve and did that up till I was 21 years old, dance studio, dance team in high school and I was on the first professional NHL dance team for the MINNESOTA NORTH STARS
I did my first commercial at eighteen for a local radio station WLOL and from there I started to do a lot of different modeling and acting work. I’ve worked on many commercials, print ads, TV and films. Having done a lot of work before I started with the Cinematics, helped me get to where I am with them today. First we did Chaste, where I loved my role and the challenge it gave me, and from there I landed the lead in The Ballad of Travis Hunter.
It’s been years of work, and we’re very excited to get these films out to the world!! I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’ve been doing this stuff for 50 years.🤯
On a fun note I was a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune in 2015.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As mentioned previously, I’ve been doing this for 50 years and we’re finally getting some traction😅
It is frustrating that these take so long to be made and to be put together in the indie world with a lot less funds than with a major production company backing us. But hopefully that won’t matter in the end and both of our films will be hugely successful🤞

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work at a title company. I am a mobile notary. I present mortgage documents at the closing table. Remarkably different than acting. However, my acting comes in very handy because I’m able to deal with each person individually and get along with most personalities. If I do say so myself. I’m very good at what I do. I make it very efficient and fun.. That’s right, fun at a mortgage signing table:) I have a lot of energy and I try to stay focused on the positive. I think what sets me apart from other people is my ability to be adaptable in all situations. And as far as acting goes, I really love improv work. It’s so fun when you just show up to set and get to goof around I really think I’d like to do more comedy.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
That’s a good question take for example when it comes to gambling not a risk taker, but in life I’ve taken a lot of risks on myself, and most of them have paid off. I mean, I am the lead in a film with Eric Roberts, and I never had to move to LA which I completely could have?I met with the head of CBS about 25 years ago and realized that might not be the best move for me and after the #Metoo movement came out that validated my intuition and intelligence as a young person
I did it all from Minneapolis, never sold out and that makes me pretty proud.
