Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Holmes.
Hi Natasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Eight years ago, I found myself in the grip of overwhelming anxiety. It felt like a dark cloud had descended on my life, preventing me from enjoying even the simplest daily activities. I felt stuck, and my fear of the world outside my home only grew stronger. At the same time, I was a mother to five young children, and the guilt of not giving them the chance to fully experience life weighed heavily on me.
In my need for change, I came across a book called “Light is The New Black” by Rebecca Campbell. It was a treasure trove of wisdom about reconnecting with your soul and embracing your true purpose. Inspired by its message, I delved into the world of healing and energy, eventually discovering the power of crystals. My first encounter with an amethyst crystal ignited a passion within me. I was captivated by its beauty and energy, and I yearned to learn more about the healing properties of crystals.
As I studied chakras and the flow of energy within our bodies, I began to undergo a remarkable transformation. My confidence grew, my fear diminished, and I felt like a brand new person. Witnessing the positive change in myself, I was determined to share the healing power of crystals with others. It was from this desire that Tribe Nine, my crystal shop, was born. My mission is to help others who may be struggling with anxiety or depression to tap into their own healing energy and realize that they don’t have to let life pass them by.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a small business on my own, with a limited budget, was far from easy. As a stay-at-home mom, I felt guilty taking time away from my family to embark on this new journey. But I wanted my children to see me create something significant, and I yearned to be more than what I was.
With the unwavering support of my husband, I tackled the business one step at a time. Without him, I might have let my anxiety take over, convincing myself that the timing wasn’t right and that I should wait a little longer. The fear of failure lingered, but I pushed forward.
When Tribe Nine first opened, we had slow days, and customers would only trickle in. I found myself doubting whether it was all worth it. But then, people would come in excited about our store in Hibbing. They wanted to hear my story and share their own experiences with me. This connection with my customers made all the struggles worth it. I loved my customers more than anything, and I still do!
In the end, the journey of starting a small business has been full of challenges, but the personal growth and triumphs make it all worthwhile. By sharing my story and connecting with my customers, I’ve not only created a successful business but also a supportive community that I cherish.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the owner of Tribe Nine, my work is centered around keeping my business thriving while introducing natural healing methods to my community. I am dedicated to supporting individuals who may be facing difficult times and inspiring a path toward healing.
In addition to offering a diverse range of healing crystals, Tribe Nine also hosts Healing Circles. These gatherings function as support groups where people can come together to share their stories and learn from one another on their healing journeys. By fostering a safe and nurturing environment, our Healing Circles aim to empower participants to overcome life’s challenges and embrace personal growth.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
My advice for anyone considering starting their own business is to seize the moment and pursue your passion without hesitation. There will never be a perfect time, so it’s essential to take the leap and chase your dreams. Be prepared to face challenges and accept that setbacks are a natural part of the process.
Instead of dwelling on failures, use them as opportunities for growth and learning. Seek guidance from a mentor who can provide valuable insights and support along the way. As my husband always tells me, “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” Embrace this philosophy and continually strive to expand your knowledge and expertise. Surround yourself with individuals who inspire and motivate you, and never stop learning as you build your business.
