We’re looking forward to introducing you to Bryce Hegge. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Bryce, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My favorite pass time is fishing. I try to get out on the lake at least once a week. I just bought my first boat this year! Crappie are my favorite fish.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Bryce Hegge is a musician from St. Michael, Minnesota. Although his “OneManBand” shows are often full of country, oldies, & pop, Hegge is sought out for his impressive range of genres spanning eight decades. Festivals, bars, pubs, church events, grad parties, weddings, assisted living homes, etc.
Bryce has built a stout résumé opening for Jesse Larson, GB Leighton, Chris Hawkey, Kat Perkins, & Chris Kroeze to name a few. He also hosted a community-based open mic night at BK Tap Haus in his hometown for four years.
Bryce is proud of his projects and community involvements and has founded his music company; BH Entertainment est. 2021.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I’d say my immediate family has always been super important to me. They’re always supportive & loving. My goal one day is to retire/take care of them all.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I miss when we didn’t have the smartphones sometimes lol.
Don’t get me wrong, they’re super helpful for business & connecting with people, but they’re extremely addictive.
I still remember a time when we had dvd players, VHS tapes, camcorders, blackberries etc. (I was born in 2002.)
It was the perfect amount of technology mixed with real life in my opinion.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That you NEED a record deal.
Not everyone needs a record deal these days.
With social media platforms, you can totally be a successful independent artist! However, you gotta put in the work. It’s hyper competitive out there.
Create a website, get business cards, get a poster with all your info on it, sell a good product, have a sporadic music setlist, post on social media, & cold call any venues you can.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a loving, & peaceful individual.
I hope people remember me as a person who gave back as much as possible, & contributed positively to society.
