We recently had the chance to connect with Jesse P. Gilmore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse P. , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
When I think about what I’m most proud of building, it’s a following based more on what I do than what I say.
Over the last three years, I’ve been quietly implementing the Leverage for Growth® method inside my own company. That’s something I couldn’t truly do when I was capped as a one-on-one coach. In 2022, I had a very clear vision to impact a million entrepreneurs, and I knew that was impossible while working solo with a maximum of 15 clients. The only way forward was to become the kind of leader who could build leverage, not just deliver value personally.
Since then, the work hasn’t been flashy. It’s been about freeing up time, building systems, duplicating myself, and crafting a minimum viable solution that creates outsized results for clients with less complexity and effort.
It’s also been about unifying referral, inbound, and outbound client attraction into one cohesive system—and empowering others to own entire parts of the business while I focus on growth and long-term direction.
What people don’t see are the internal systems, the habits, the identity shifts, and the personal transformation that happened along the way. I’m fundamentally different than I was three years ago, and that change didn’t come from tactics. It came from understanding that transformation is the real game. What looks like “overnight success” from the outside is usually years of laying a strong foundation, brick by brick. That kind of work isn’t very sexy in today’s marketing landscape, but it’s the only thing that actually lasts.
That internal work eventually began to show up in tangible ways. You can feel it in the culture of our mastermind, the depth of our alliance calls, and the feedback from clients who tell us that the thinking, structure, and clarity they gain are the most valuable parts of the experience. It also shows up in the systems we’ve been quietly building to one day serve tens of thousands of agency owners while still maintaining a personal, high-value experience.
After six years of testing and refinement, we isolated the most impactful sub-outcome inside the Leverage for Growth method: the offer. Time and again, we saw the same pattern. Change the offer, and you change the business. That insight led to the creation of the Scalable Agency Accelerator, which is a focused program designed to fast-track real scalability.
Before launching it publicly, mastermind clients beta tested the framework. During launch week alone, two clients implemented it and closed $50,000/month and $25,000/month clients respectively. Those results didn’t come from a clever launch. They came from six years of iteration, refinement, and pattern recognition across coaching more than 500 agencies.
I’m proud of the unseen work. The systems, the discipline, the patience, the clarity, and the long-term commitment to serving at a higher level. Everything we’re building is grounded in that original vision of serving a million entrepreneurs. And the best part is, we’re still just getting started.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jesse P. Gilmore, founder of Niche in Control and creator of the Leverage for Growth® Method, which is a proven system that has helped over 500 agency owners escape founder burnout and scale with intention. What makes our brand unique is that we don’t just talk about growth. We engineer it. Our focus is on building the internal systems, team structure, offer design, and client acquisition strategies that make growth scalable, predictable, and aligned with the founder’s desired lifestyle.
What began as a one-on-one coaching practice has evolved into a multi-dimensional platform designed to serve tens of thousands of agency owners. One of our newest tools, the Scalable Agency Accelerator™, is a rapid-execution program that helps agency founders craft, price, and launch a scalable offer in just 14 days. It’s more than a course… it’s a structured implementation system that empowers founders to shift from labor-heavy services to outcome-based delivery models that scale sustainably and profitably.
Right now, our focus is on bringing this methodology to a wider audience through live trainings, strategic partnerships, and media like this. Our mission is to impact one million entrepreneurs. Every system we build and every client we serve brings us closer to that vision.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Without question, my wife. That relationship has shaped how I see myself more than any other.
She believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself. During the times when my identity felt uncertain, she held a vision of who I could be… not the version weighed down by burnout or circumstance, but the version still becoming. She saw that potential and stayed committed to it, even when the external reality didn’t match. That kind of belief is rare. It’s easy to stand by someone when they’re winning; it’s something else entirely to stand by them when they’re not.
There were moments I hit bottom. I questioned whether I had what it takes to lead a family, run a company, and pursue the bigger vision I felt called toward. She never questioned it. Her faith, which was sometimes spoken, sometimes shown through quiet presence, reminded me that the strength I needed was already there. She helped me find it again.
That consistent trust gave me the courage to keep going, to bet on a bigger future, and to grow into the kind of person who leads with conviction instead of fear. She didn’t just support me; she challenged me to become. And that’s the kind of relationship that changes everything.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely.
After I made the shift in 2022 from one-on-one coaching to a group model, I went all in. I had this clear vision of creating a business that could impact far more people, but I didn’t yet have the strategy to match it. I learned through trial and error. I made mistakes in culture, accountability, and delivery. I didn’t yet know how to create the same depth of transformation for a group that I could in private coaching.
Then in early 2023, everything seemed to collapse at once. Over a three-month period, I lost about $60,000. I questioned everything. Was I doing the right thing? Had I made a mistake? Should I go back to the way things were? To make it more intense, that happened while I was launching the Leverage for Growth podcast, preparing to publish The Agency Owner’s Guide to Freedom, and getting ready for the birth of my daughter. The pressure was enormous.
It forced me to make hard choices. I had to scale down to scale up. I stripped the business back to essentials and focused on serving clients powerfully and rebuilding systems that could actually sustain growth. I realized I had changed too many big variables at once: the offer, pricing model, and audience dynamics. I had switched from a monthly model to an upfront annual one because I’d seen others do it successfully, but it didn’t fit my market. Most agency owners don’t have that kind of cash ready to move. The lesson was painful but clear: you can’t shortcut proof of concept, and you can’t copy someone else’s playbook.
There were days I seriously considered giving up and going back to one-on-one work. But what kept me going was the vision and the calling to impact a million entrepreneurs. That vision pulled me through the doubt and gave meaning to the struggle.
Looking back now, I’m grateful for that season. It taught me how to lead through contraction, not just expansion. It deepened my empathy for the agency owners I serve. When a client tells me they’re at a breaking point, I can meet them there with real understanding because I’ve lived it. That experience strengthened my faith, my leadership, and my resilience. I came out of it better, not bitter.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to helping one million entrepreneurs achieve freedom through leverage, no matter how long it takes. That goal has shaped everything I do. It’s not a tagline. It’s my mission.
Freedom, to me, isn’t just about working less or earning more. It’s about transformation. It’s about becoming the kind of leader who can build a business that serves their life, instead of being consumed by it. I’ve seen so many agency owners hit a ceiling, not because they lack talent, but because they’re trapped in a business that depends on them for everything. That’s where leverage changes everything.
When I started developing the Leverage for Growth® method, I had no idea how much it would evolve. Over time, it became a framework for reclaiming time, building systems that scale, and helping founders step into the role of Visionary CEO. The Scalable Agency Accelerator™ is one piece of that mission. It’s a 14-day execution program that helps agency owners craft, price, and launch a scalable offer. But it’s more than a program. It’s a doorway into what’s possible when you align your business model with your freedom goals.
This work is long-term. It’s generational. It’s about helping entrepreneurs build freedom into the foundation of their business so they can grow without burning out. Whether it takes ten years or thirty, I’m in it for the long haul. Once you’ve experienced what true freedom feels like, you can’t help but want others to experience it too.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Most people think scaling a business means adding more. More systems, more team, more clients, more hours. What I’ve learned is that real scale begins by simplifying. It’s about alignment, not addition.
After working with more than 500 agencies, I’ve seen the same pattern repeat itself. The root cause of burnout, chaos, and plateaued growth isn’t usually the systems or the people. It’s the offer. When the offer is misaligned, everything downstream gets harder. When it’s right, everything flows.
That’s why I believe transformation starts with the offer. It defines your delivery model, your systems, your margins, and ultimately, your freedom. Fix the offer, and you can build scalable systems that don’t depend on you. You stop chasing complexity and start leading from clarity.
What I understand now is that growth is more spiritual than tactical. It’s not just about building systems. It’s about becoming the kind of person who can let go of control, trust others, and think in leverage. That’s where real freedom and scalability begin.
