Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Brazil.
Hi Angela, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I became a Massage Therapist to help people thru pain and trauma.
I graduated from Aveda Institute in 1999.
Over the years I’ve traveled to people’s homes/businesses and I lost out on a lot of my kids growing up. Being a single mom it is hard to juggle so many things in the air. I lost my job at a chiropractic office due to find out that the owner was having an affair with the receptionist. I had no idea what I was going to do. And so I took my tax return and rented for a year the place that I am in now. The year was 2019, the following year was 2020 shut down. I was fortunate enough to have conn eyed with a holistic chiropractor and I worked the Covid as an “essential worker” under her. I gained some clientele thru that, word of mouth spread about my technique and how different I am and why I do works! That I started creating a name for myself. Now 2025 still in the same location made it thru COVID and clientele is federal and a few clients thru google. I also have incorporated lymphatic drainage massage and tooling/weight loss body sculpting to my resume.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a rough road with lots of obstacles. But I have made it where I am today with preserving thru the obstacles .covid was a huge obstacle that left businesses like mine closing down or losing so many clients that had to get another job. Now after covid, and with the economy the way it is, the uncertainty in the US lately. I am loosing clients again due to the cost of increase in everything. And people see massage still to this day as a “luxury” and not a necessity. I do not have the connections like large businesses do, nor the funding, so that I would say is my most recent struggle that I am going the. It is not easy, but I have two kids that depend on me so I have to do whatever I have to in order to provide for them
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart from others is my technique. There so far is no one out there doing what I do, I see results Eve from the first session with a client. I am know for helping with muscle mobility again, my personality, my energy. I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to stay in business this long, the Covid, ups and downs of the economy and that I have become a word of mouth massage therapist! My technique is like “accu trigger point” mixed in with several other techniques. I can feel the movement of the muscles and where you have ailments. I ca also feel someone’s trauma past and present and help to move that thru the body as well.
Any big plans?
I would like to be able to move my business to the next level of people working for me and branching into a larger space. To be able to get my technique out there to change people’s minds and views on massage and that you don’t have to get “beat up” to have a good massage
