Check Out Fred’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fred. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Fred is one of the founders of the sport of extreme pogo and has progressed today to be one of the best jumpers in the world. He has inspired countless younger athletes and is a major driving force behind the sport’s growth. As a veteran and founder of the sport, Fred has been featured in numerous media pieces, from Jay Leno, America’s Got Talent, and notably a Nike commercial during the 2012 Olympics. Fred has used his talent over the years to develop a pogo stick-themed show and break Guinness World Records for his extreme pogo stunts. It has been his full-time job for 17 years now.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Pogo sticking for a living has its ups and downs. Performing live entertainment as a career has been challenging, especially in the last few years. A lot of what I do is Busking/street performing where I am only paid by the people that see the show, which is impossible to do when you can’t gather audiences. It’s been great coming back this past year and a half and being able to jump for live audiences.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Pogo Fred holds multiple Guinness World Records for his extreme pogo stunts and is regarded as one of the best jumpers on the planet. Check out his incredible tricks and flips as he jumps 10 feet (3 meters) in the air on his next generation and 10-foot tall pogo sticks.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?

  • I picked up a few new hobbies in the last few years.
  • I bought a 3D printer and taught myself how to model in 3D to make pogo stick parts!
  • I also got into silk screen printing to be able to make my shirt designs and slap my logo on whatever I want.
