Today we’d like to introduce you to Indigo McDaniel
Hi Indigo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi I’m Indigo but everyone calls me Indy. I’ve wanted to get into content creation since I was 15 and I’m 25 now. I got started making Tik Toks the summer of 2024. At first when Tik Tok came out, I was a hater at first. But then I finally came around too it. I came from a small town, a little town called Grantsburg. I’m from the country side of Wisconsin. Where everyone knows everyone’s business.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been not a smooth journey due to my mental health and close people to me and their opinions, made me doubt that I could do it. So for a long time I put myself and my dreams on the backburner due to certain circumstances that have happened to me. I spent a very long time not quite taking care and my needs. So I can take care of people who really needed me in that moment. I am now in a position where I can spend more time making content. Which I’m very excited to do more of.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make Tik Toks and Instagram posts about fashion content. I’ll also make videos talking about where I got my clothes from. I’m proud of one of my tik tok videos has around 36 thousand views. I believe what sets me apart is I am a nonbinary person with a short black buzzcut with a heart face tattoo and I don’t see many other Fashion content creators making similar videos like mine.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
The apps I use to help me do my best. Is I love Pinterest and looking up outfit inspiration. Instagram is great as well. I love to watch fashion content on YouTube whether that’s hauls, or how to design a clothing collection. I’ll read fashion books from my library as well.
