Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaci Finneman.
Jaci, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up surrounded by kids. My mom ran a daycare and also provided respite care for children with developmental disabilities, so from a young age, I got to see what it looked like to meet kids where they were and help them feel safe and capable. I spent a lot of time shadowing her—she was my first mentor—and I learned early on how much patience, humor, and consistency it takes to care for kids. On top of that, I come from a huge extended family—over a hundred first cousins—so babysitting for cousins was just part of daily life.
After high school, I started working as a paraprofessional in the school district, supporting students with special needs. A few years later, I became a personal care attendant for a young girl with Reactive Attachment Disorder, and that experience completely shifted my career path. I realized that behavior is communication, and behind every outburst or defiance is a child trying to feel seen and understood. That’s what moved me from special education into mental health.
From 1995 to 2015, I worked as a mental health practitioner and family counselor, spending most of my time in homes with parents who were doing everything they could to help their kids but often felt blamed or unseen. I found that when parents felt validated and supported—when they had someone reminding them they were the expert on their child—they became more confident leaders, and the entire family dynamic changed.
In 2013, I started Hello World, LLC and later created No-Problem Parenting™—a practical, matter-of-fact approach that helps parents turn behavior problems into no problem. My work has always been about helping parents lead with confidence instead of guilt or fear.
For anyone who wants to hear more about why I started my company and what inspired the No-Problem Parenting™ approach, I share that full story in Episode 32 of The No-Problem Parenting Podcast.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—but I’ve learned to stop expecting smooth. Life has a way of teaching us through challenge. I’ve experienced deep loss, including two angel babies and the passing of my mom, who was my mentor and best confidante. Losing her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, and yet it continues to shape how I show up for others—with empathy, honesty, and an understanding that love and leadership often grow from pain.
When I started Hello World, LLC in 2013, I didn’t have a business plan—just a calling to keep helping parents in a practical way. I had to figure everything out as I went, from technology and marketing to finances and systems, all while building No-Problem Parenting™ and supporting families every day. The road is still bumpy. My current challenge is scaling the company—expanding the reach, growing The Nest community, and building a team to handle the things I don’t excel in but that are essential for growth.
I’ve been fortunate to have incredible women around me—mentors and fellow entrepreneurs who’ve guided me, encouraged me, and even supported me financially when I needed it most. Their generosity has been humbling and has taught me one of my biggest lessons: in order to give, you must also be willing to receive. My goal now is to pay that forward—to support and lift others the way so many have done for me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the founder of Hello World, LLC and the creator of No-Problem Parenting™ — a practical, matter-of-fact approach that helps parents turn problems into no problem. By definition, problems are meant to be dealt with and overcome, and that’s exactly what I help parents do.
I work with parents who love their kids but feel stuck — tired of the power struggles, defiance, or constant tension in their home. Before we ever focus on what their child is doing, I help parents notice what’s happening for them — how they react, what pushes their buttons, and why certain moments feel harder than others. When parents understand themselves first, they naturally show up with more confidence and less emotion, and everything begins to shift.
After more than 30 years of working with families, I’ve learned that kids don’t need perfect parents; they need confident ones. I’m known for my straightforward, encouraging style and for helping parents feel seen, capable, and back in charge. I teach parents how to guide their kids through challenges with confidence, not control.
What I’m most proud of is seeing the light come back on in a parent’s eyes – that moment when a parent realizes, “I can handle this.” Through coaching, courses, and The No-Problem Parenting Podcast, I get to remind parents that they already have what it takes — they just need the confidence and the tools to use it.
And what sets me apart is that No-Problem Parenting™ plays well with others. Once parents learn my approach, any parenting model, method, or philosophy they already use tends to work even better. I don’t believe in competition when it comes to helping families. I also connect parents with trusted resources and professionals who can support them in other areas of family life — because raising kids truly takes a team. You are the expert on your child — I’m here to help you believe that and lead with confidence.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
There are so many! One that stands out is when my parents took me and my four siblings to Valleyfair with our cousins family. We didn’t get many opportunities to take vacations, so that summer we spent the whole day riding rollercoasters, taking the old time family picture and singing karaoke (before it was a thing) with my cousins felt extra special. I remember the long drive, packing lunch in the cooler and staying there until it was dark.
It was simple, but it was a rare day when our whole family was together, having fun and not worrying about anything else.
