My story in the beauty industry started right after graduating from cosmetology school, with a strong passion for hair and for making people feel their best. Early on, I worked behind the chair in a large salon in woodbury, learning the technical side of styling and color, but also what it means to connect with clients and build trust. Over time, I realized I wanted to create more than just beautiful hair—I wanted to build a salon environment where both clients and stylists felt supported, inspired, and valued.
That vision led me to open The Salon MN. It’s been a journey of growth, learning, and leadership. Today, I’m proud to run a luxury salon where our focus is not only on offering high-end services with the best products, but also on mentoring the next generation of stylists through education and apprenticeship.
What started as a personal passion has grown into a business that reflects who I am today: someone who loves both the artistry of hair and the challenge of building a team and brand that delivers an elevated experience every time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve faced my share of challenges along the way. Early on, it was about balancing the demands of being both a stylist and a business owner—making sure clients received the luxury experience I envisioned while also managing payroll, inventory, and the day-to-day operations.
Staffing has also been a big learning curve. Building the right team takes time, patience, and leadership, and there have been ups and downs with finding the balance between supporting people while also holding high standards. On top of that, there have been unexpected hurdles—like navigating the pandemic, supply chain issues with products, and the financial pressures of running a business.
But through those struggles, I’ve learned how to be adaptable, creative, and resilient. Every challenge has pushed me to refine my vision and strengthen The Salon MN into what it is today: a place I’m proud of, with a team and clientele that inspire me every day

My work has always been centered on creating beautiful, healthy hair while giving clients an experience that feels both luxurious and approachable. I specialize in daily hair transformations—helping people feel renewed and confident when they leave my chair. Over time, I’ve become known not just for the hair itself, but for the way I connect with clients and make sure they feel heard and cared for.
What I’m most proud of is building The Salon MN into more than just a place to get your hair done. It’s a space where clients know they’ll receive top-quality service and where stylists are constantly learning, growing, and pushing their artistry. What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was definitely a tomboy—I loved being active and outdoors. But as I got into my teenage years, I discovered my passion for doing hair. I was always the one styling my girlfriends before school dances or weekends out. We laugh now because back then there weren’t even flat irons, so we’d literally use the ironing board to straighten hair.
Even from a young age, I was very focused and driven, and I’ve always had a big heart for people and animals. That mix of determination and compassion shaped who I am today—it’s what led me into a career where I can both use my creativity and truly care for others in a way that makes a difference
