Check Out Kaimana Miranda’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaimana Miranda.

Hi Kaimana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I am a mommy to two girls, a wife, and a travel nurse. My mother is of Native American descent and my father is of Native Hawaiian descent. I grew up on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in Fort Yates, ND. I became a very young mom at the age of 16, however, that did not stop me from reaching my educational goals.

I graduated high school at the top of my class as valedictorian with my diploma in one hand and my daughter in the other. Following high school I pursued my college degree in nursing. Throughout my college years, I attended classes and nursing clinicals full-time and worked part-time to provide for my daughter and me.

After receiving my college degree in nursing & passing the state board exam I entered into my nursing career. I worked as a hemodialysis nurse that specialized in vascular access management for 7 years before entering travel nursing. The COVID pandemic of 2020 was when I decided to transition into travel nursing for a local agency.

There I would travel the state of ND, picking up crisis shifts where critical help was needed during the pandemic. In 2021, my husband was ordered to deploy overseas for roughly one year with the ND Army National Guard. Weeks before this deployment we had just finished custom building our first home in Fargo, ND. My husband was able to spend only a few nights in our new home before deploying overseas. During his deployment, I continued to work as a PRN travel nurse. During this time, I also decided to start vlogging and sharing my content with my social media sites.

Originally I started to vlog to help my husband feel like he wasn’t missing out on so much of our family’s everyday life. After sharing an emotional “goodbye” deployment video with my social media sites, my followers requested more and more content (Mostly from my TikTok followers). I posted everyday vlogs, routing vlogs, shopping hauls, cooking videos, unboxing, etc. I did this throughout the entire deployment and was thankful that I could share our “reunited” video with all of my followers who had supported me throughout such a tough year!

Since then, I have continued to share my life with my social media followers where I eventually started to get offered products and brand deals. I love trying new products and sharing all that I receive with my social media family! 16 year old teen mom Kaimana wouldn’t believe you if you had told her she would end up where she is today but I have worked very hard to give my daughter(s) a good life. While I love nursing as a career, my ultimate goal would be to pursue social media content creation full-time & to be able to help contribute to my family’s income through social media itself!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growing up on a Native American reservation is a challenge in itself, however, I also had my daughter at the age of 16. Pursuing a high school/college education was a challenge but we made it!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a travel nurse, however, I also do content creation for social media. While nursing will always hold a special place in my heart, content creation/social media is my true passion and is what I would love to pursue full-time!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work/collaborate with me by reaching out to me personally via email or social media! I love to collaborate with local (and nonlocal) businesses to help their business reach a larger audience!

Typically, I can do product reviews or just general content creation using their business’s products. As far as support, they can follow me on all of my social media websites and interact with whatever content they’re attracted to! I always appreciate every follow, like, comment & share that I receive.
