Check Out Kebbeh Jallah’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kebbeh Jallah.

Hi Kebbeh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a 23-year-old African American entrepreneur who grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I model and write books. I’ve always been passionate about writing, and I started pursuing it as a career when I was a kid. In 2019, I enrolled in North Hennepin Community College and earned a degree in fine arts and creative writing. After graduation, I published a book titled “When Hurt Heals.” To promote the book, I conducted my own photoshoot. Later, I embarked on a podcast called “Live on Lake Street” to expand my audience. The book was inspired by the challenges and trials I’ve faced in life, and it’s my hope that it will encourage the younger generation to prioritize mental health and not suppress their emotions.

In 2022, my family and I participated in a Christmas photoshoot with Vasia Johnson. She saw something in me that I didn’t recognize at the time, and she started working with me on creative shoots ever since. My audience has grown steadily, and I’ve become a brand ambassador for PrettyGalCollectionz. Modeling for multiple creative makeup artists has played a significant role in my successful as well. I’ve also modeled in several shoots for the brand and have been planning to collaborate with more businesses and photographers in the future.

Currently, I’m enrolled in school again for my Bachelors degree pertaining to business and administration. I’ve also established my LLC for the H.E.R. Foundation and am working on writing more books and launching a clothing line once I graduateI’m currently working on writing more books and launching a clothing line once I graduate. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to be a BELCHE model and collaborate with Kimaria Andrea to expand her brand.
Lastly, in August 2024, my uncle Apostle Dwight Buckner Jr. gave me the chance to showcase my book at his church, Generation of Hope, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In 2019, I discovered I was adopted, which profoundly impacted my life. It introduced me to a new perspective on life, fostering a deeper appreciation for myself and my blessings. While I didn’t experience significant hardships during my upbringing, this revelation opened my eyes to the vastness of the world. Subsequently, I encountered various challenges, including surgical procedures, the loss of friends and relationships, and more. Despite these obstacles, I remain proud of the experiences that have shaped me, as they have provided me with invaluable knowledge and wisdom. One of the most significant challenges I’ve faced is self-doubt. At times, I find myself contemplating my accomplishments and struggling to believe in my abilities. However, I’ve learned to embrace a slower pace and refrain from comparing my life to societal standards. God and my mother have been my unwavering support systems, guiding me through this journey. My ultimate goal is to cultivate happiness regardless of my circumstances.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I currently work in administration at a school. Although it’s not my lifelong profession, it has taught me valuable lessons about conducting myself, building relationships with the community and other employees, and effectively communicating with diverse audiences.

In addition to my administrative role, I specialize in writing and modeling outside of work. At work, I collaborate closely with the principal and secretary to ensure the smooth functioning of the school. Before my administrative career, I worked in corporate offices as a receptionist, where I was known for my ability to interact with the office and ensure that students/ employees were appropriately directed and supported.

Outside of work, I excel in modeling and creative writing, particularly in the realm of storytelling. I enjoy writing personal narratives and stories about others, and I find great fulfillment in creating journals that resonate with my target generation, offering them guidance and support during challenging times.

I am proud of my ability to code-switch effectively, as I remain steadfast in my morals and religious beliefs regardless of my level of public recognition.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The role of luck has been a constant factor in my life. I believe that everything that happens is meant to have a purpose, regardless of its nature. If I gain or lose something in the process, I accept it as part of the plan. This belief helps me make decisions that align with my goals and aspirations.

However, I must admit that my modeling and book-selling endeavors have experienced a slight slowdown due to my academic commitments and full-time job. I’m determined to find ways to manage my time effectively so that I can dedicate my free time to pursuing my dreams.
