Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Haley.
Hi Paige, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I didn’t always enjoy extended time outdoors & to be honest, growing up the most outdoorsy thing I’d do was mow lawn or go to cross-country practice.
However, when I moved to Minnesota almost 5 years ago, my husband & I decided to get a dog. We wanted a labrador retriever since we both grew up with labs. So that’s what we got & we named him Finley – he was the cutest little fur-ball.
Next thing you know, we are putting up a fence, going on long walks turned into hiking, buying a boat & taking him out on the river with us, bringing him on our road trips & so much more. It wasn’t until Finley that I realized how much I love being outdoors.
Fast-forward 3 years & Finley now has a little brother who looks just like him. His name is Murphy & he has more energy than any other dog I’ve ever met! So, now we have a camper so they can travel with us more & even bought a house with a bigger backyard.
I can’t say most of these decisions weren’t made without the dogs in mind, because they were. Our lives changed because of them & I wouldn’t have it any other way. Without Finley & now Murphy, who knows if I would’ve fallen in love with the outdoors as much as I have over the years.
Now, I have created a blog & an Instagram account revolving around our Midwest adventures & travel experiences. It has become a wonderful creative outlet for me & even more so, to enjoy addition time with my husband & our dogs outdoors doing what we love most, together.
And to think, it all started with a dog.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road by any means. Sometimes you question if it’s worth it, if the hardwork is going to produce results or you start comparing your growth to others.
Something I have continuously reminded myself, especially over the last year, is a quote from Jon Acuff – “don’t compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.”

I specialize in sharing Midwest Adventure + Travel through my blog & Instagram. My favorite part is showing people how beautiful the Midwest is. Our region is so underrated & I love sharing that with others who are not familiar with our area, have never visited, or those who are from the Midwest & looking for new destinations to explore!

I am terrified of birds after being chased by a chicken when I was younger!
