Check Out Richard Watson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Watson.

Richard, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
To make a long story short, I was raised in the inner city highly influenced by Peer pressure and from what I have seen and heard around me ( music Tv neighborhood ) didn’t have positive role models so needless to say I got in a lot of trouble, went to jail a few times friends we’re getting killed at young ages then something click in me and I decided I wanted to choose life. So I started following church tv shows listening to audiobooks then I wrote my own book Thoughts from Your Neighborhood N-Word created a documentary film Town Business Minnesota then I got married to my wife and that’s when I realized I had to get involved with the youth doing the documentary helped me see and understand so many different teen struggles and how they are being manipulated so many ways and I wanted to help stop it. Understanding most of these kids’ positions where they come from how they grow, etc I can relate so I started a nonprofit by the name of Glow Up Foundation in hopes to be a hub where positive content creators and influencers are promoted and supposed to reach the masses and change the narrative. While working full time as a truck driver wife and father I’m also doing YouTube videos speaking out about the mental health of people in relationships out relationships dealing with people and healing them selfs but I am just getting started

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not a smooth road for me at all finding a way with no proper guidance. Negative influence the wrong friends getting involved with using drugs and alcohol going to jail multiple times list goes on…

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been driving semi-trucks since my transition from the streets ran a health care business that was closed due to Covid I’m probably most known for successful transitioning out of a bad life into a more respectable one without looking back. The thing that would set me apart from most is that I’ve been in magazines documentary’s and other things around the country recognized by my music and famous friends

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That everyone needs help one way or another and that starts with the most important work on your mind.
