Hi The Tasty Trio, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Tasty Trio started with three best friends, Amanda, Morgan and Hallie, who shared a passion for food, creativity, and building a space where people could connect over shared experiences. We’ve always believed that food isn’t just about what you eat—it’s about the memories you create, the cultures you explore, and the conversations you have with the people your with. Each of us brings something unique to the table, from culinary experiments to design and storytelling, and we’ve used those talents to grow our social media platform into something special.

As best friends with a passion for travel, we realized that the best way to truly get to know a city is through its local eateries and unique culinary traditions. From the freshest seafood in Boston, to the melt-in-your-mouth beignets of New Orleans, or the perfect California-style burrito in San Diego, each meal is more than just food; it’s a reflection of the culture, the people, and the stories of the places we visit. We wanted to create a platform where we could share these experiences with others, highlighting the places that make each destination special, whether it’s a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant or a bustling food market.

All three of us are Asian, and grew up in cultures where food is much more than just sustenance—it’s at the heart of family life and community. Whether it was gathering around a steaming pot of pho, enjoying kaldereta with family, or sharing a simple meal with friends, food has always been the thread that ties us together. It’s through these traditions that we’ve come to appreciate the power of food to bring people closer and create lasting memories.

Some of our best memories together have been shaped by food—whether it’s experimenting with new recipes at home, hosting lively dinner parties, or venturing out to try new restaurants. Tasty Trio isn’t just a food account—it’s a celebration of friendship, creativity, and the power of food to bring people together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a food-based social media account is definitely not without its challenges. We’ve faced more than a few bumps along the way and are still getting our feet on the ground. One of the biggest hurdles we’ve faced is standing out in an oversaturated market. With so many food accounts out there, carving out our own unique voice and staying on top of trends without blending in can be tough. It’s not just about being creative; it’s about delivering consistent, high-quality content—and when you’ve got three people juggling schedules, finding time to shoot content can be tricky.

Then there’s the pressure to make everything look perfect. There are so many great Twin Cities based food accounts that have their marketing and editing down to a T! This is something we’re continuously working on improving, but sometimes it’s a balance between what we want to achieve and what’s realistic for a team that’s just getting started.

Engagement is another challenge we face. With social media algorithms constantly changing, it is hard to get our posts in front of people who care about our content—thankfully, we’ve got a solid base of family and friends helping us out! And, of course, trends in the food world are always changing. What’s hot today can be forgotten tomorrow, and we’re always weighing whether it’s worth jumping on the latest craze. But through it all, we’re committed to staying authentic and true to what excites us, and the connections we’ve made with restaurant owners and their teams, hearing their unique stories, makes every challenge worth it!

At the end of the day, running a food account has been more than just great content or beautiful photos—it’s about staying adaptable, constantly learning, and celebrating what makes us unique, regardless of the challenges we may face. It has been a fun little journey and we will continue to build our brand and share our love for food, maybe inspiring others to do the same!

The Tasty Trio focuses on capturing and sharing the unique essence of each restaurant we visit. Through creative videos and thoughtfully composed photos, we bring our followers into the dining experience—showcasing not just the food but the ambiance and aesthetic of each spot. We focus on sharing our content across Instagram and TikTok through a variety of formats—stories, posts, and engaging videos. We’ve had the exciting opportunity to partner with restaurants throughout the Twin Cities, learning about their journeys and featuring their unique dishes. We aim to inspire and guide our followers to explore new dining experiences!
