Check Out Tracy And Troy Hansen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy And Troy Hansen.

Hi Tracy and Troy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I (Tracy) grew up with my dad portraying Santa Claus, I always wanted to walk in his foot steps. In 2020 around November my husband said that he always wanted to portray Santa Claus, me hearing that I immediately went online and found outfits we could wear that year.

2020 was Covid and as a in home child care provider we planned with my daycare families, to visit them on their doorstep masks and all to talk with the children take pictures and have the kids tell us their Christmas wishes.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Covid was a bit of a struggle, otherwise we have grown tremendously over the years. We offered our Christmas Performance to many companies for free the first couple years as a trial run, many have rebooked us and pay for our visit. Our mission has been to serve more than anything, in 2026 this dream came true as we started volunteering our time to more charity’s, wishes and more based out of Minnesota, Salvation Army, the arthritis foundation Jingle Bell Run at US Bank Stadium, and the secret Sleigh Project.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Outside of our portrayal of Santa and Mrs Claus, Troy is a Technical operations Manager for a company that installs ATMs. Tracy has been taking care of children for 40 years and has been an in home child care provider for 25 years, bringing a layer of love to her performance.

Tracy is also the Secretary and assistant treasurer of the MN North Star Santas, a group of approximately 130 Santa’s, Mrs Claus and Elves. The group offers training, gatherings, backgrounds, insurance for our members and a “Find a Santa” program on the website for the general public to find their perfect Santa, Mrs Claus, and Elves.

Tracy and Troy are also very involved in their small hometown church volunteering and helping when needed.

We have been portraying Santa and Mrs Claus for 6 seasons, we are known for our caring, loving and giving hearts, spreading joy to all young and old not only during the Christmas season but throughout the year. Very few Santa’s have a Mrs Claus to perform with so adding this additional detail gives more magic to our portrayal.

We are most proud of our opportunity to volunteer with multiple organizations giving of our time, also when homes and businesses book us for the next season. We have many memories we have made not only with the children and the adults we see but with the business we have formed a friendship with.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
We have many friends and family that follow us on our journey and are excited to hear and see what we are doing. We are working on a fundraiser for our “Wishes and More” child for this December 2026 hoping we can give the family some spending money on the trip they get to go on through the foundation.

Within the Santa Community, we often gather together in person, online, through phone calls, emails and text. We share our experiences and thoughts with each other. In some small or big way we all help each other out.
