Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Nagy.
Hi Amanda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello! I’m Amanda Nagy, born and raised in Minnesota. In 2018, I started a side hustle that has now turned full time with my business partner, Ami Kochendorfer. Ami and I have worked together for 7+ years in corporate America as the in-house creative team. We quickly became friends and worked together side-by-side learning from each other. After being laid off in the summer of 2019, we decided we’d have no regrets in this life and took Finn & Gray full time. Finn & Gray is a creative agency that works with lifestyle brands that want to help better their customers’ lives. We create beautiful brands, engaging websites, and captivating video+photography.
We have been lucky to turn from co-workers to co-owners and wouldn’t have it any other way. Our work is better because we have each other to constantly improve each part of every project we work on. When one of us gets stuck on a layout or edit of a video, we give it a breather and ask the other to look it over. It is the perfect working process for a creative.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’ve been very fortunate. While the day-to-day has its challenges of learning accounting, project management, and more, we haven’t struggled too much. We know that we have built a very solid network of people who actually like working with us. As far as challenges go though, we have only had the basic “WTF do we do now” when you first start a business and the one thing that has helped greatly is a mantra of ‘we’ll figure it out!’

Finn & Gray is a graphic design team located in Woodbury, Minnesota. We focus on branding, web design, and photography/video, as well as general graphic design services. We are known for our exceptional relationships with our clients. We really focus on bringing the best return on investment with our creative expressions. We are a fun team that loves the work we get to do on a daily basis.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We love to help beautify brands and are always on the hunt for our next makeover. Our focus is really on consumer-focused brands that want to help get someone to a happier, healthier, better them. No project is too small or big for us. We bring a broad set of skills to each project we work on.
