Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Aubitz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always loved reading. Growing up, I can hardly remember a time when I didn’t have a book in my hand. At Valentine Hills Elementary in Arden Hills, I fondly remember the librarian searching for new books for me every week. By the time I reached 5th grade, it was already becoming a challenge to find one I hadn’t read.
That love of books has never faded. In the 1990s, my husband started a printing company, and in 2010 I joined the team. Not long after, we received our first order to print books—and from there, we expanded to include publishing services for our clients. I often say I’m fortunate to have found a career where I get paid to read every day.
What I love most is working with authors on their passion projects. We specialize in inspirational, motivational, spiritual, and educational books—whether non-fiction, fiction, or children’s stories. My hope is that my legacy will be helping bring more books into the world that uplift, educate, and inspire people.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I believe one of the biggest challenges in publishing is keeping up with what’s current. The industry is constantly evolving, and I make it a priority to stay informed by taking classes, reading articles, and attending seminars. For me, the key is to use that knowledge to support our authors in the best way possible.
We’ve been impressed with FuzionPress and Kirk House Publishers, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
FuzionPress and Kirk House Publishers specialize in bringing meaningful stories to life. We focus on books that inspire humanity—stories that spark curiosity, encourage resilience, foster compassion, and celebrate the human spirit. Whether it’s a memoir, a novel, or a children’s book, we are dedicated to helping authors share their voices in ways that connect deeply with readers. By combining thoughtful publishing guidance with high-quality printing, we ensure each book is not only beautifully produced but also positioned to make a lasting impact. I am proud of this work—championing books with heart, guiding authors through the publishing process and ultimately into the hands of readers where they can truly make a difference.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor and building a strong network are both essential, especially when starting out in the business world. I’ve always found networking groups and community business organizations, like the Chamber of Commerce, to be incredibly valuable. They’re not only a place to meet people but also a space to learn from others’ experiences. Beyond local groups, being an active member—and even taking on leadership roles—in regional and national publishing organizations has been instrumental for me. It’s helped me grow professionally, gain broader perspectives, and become a more well-rounded person. My advice is to be active, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to both learn and contribute; mentoring and networking thrive in environments where you give as much as you take.
