Community Highlights: Meet Dawn Johnson of The Dawn Johnson Experience Life and Wellness Coach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawn Johnson.

Hi Dawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey began after being fired from Corp America after a 22.5-year career as a solid contributor for 2 decades. I was fired by the Area VP at the time who loathed my existence and did everything in her power to make me feel inadequate and marginalized. I decided at that moment not to be a victim and I sued a 36 billion-dollar organization and settled out of court for far more than what my severance would have been. From that moment on at the end of 2018, I went on my healing journey to deal with the trauma of 22.5 years of being the only Black woman in management in my region. I had not realized how unwell I was until I literally had to be still. No longer working 70 hours weekly around the clock and on weekends, I was actually free and able to rest for the first time in years! Once I received the settlement, I went off to heal. I paid for coaching certifications and hired coaches to support in my own healing as well as learn from them. After a full 18 months of being on my journey, I was ready to launch my Coaching business and then Covid happened! I didn’t realize what a blessing it was to launch my business in a pandemic. However, it actually made the most sense to help all the humans who were experiencing a multitude of mental unwellness. I showed up on every free platform virtually to offer my services for free to the Black & Brown communities where the impact of the pandemic was significant.

I ended 2020 with my first 3 clients and a Wellness Company called Let Go Let Flow with my business partner Chaz Sandifer and I have never looked back! I have been on fire as a Life and Wellness Coach.

2022 has been a huge year of growth for me. I received a grant that allowed me to invest back into my business. I launched my first branding video premiere to share with new potential clients and celebrate old and existing ones. It was a huge success in my eyes to share my journey with the other coaches I admire in the collective as well. I belong to such a supportive community of women entrepreneurs that all want to see each other win.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I embrace the path not being smooth or easy. I do embrace energetically what is meant for me and comes to me with ease. My biggest challenge is being consistent with social media. I would love to have more support in that area. Obstacles of staying on top of everything as a solo entrepreneur when it’s all your responsibility.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Dawn Johnson Experience Life and Wellness Coach?
The Process

Dawn largely follows a self-guided process — Dawn guides you through the process, helping you discover answers.

We start the process wherever you are in your life challenges.

Deal with today, not yesterday or tomorrow.

Use unique personality assessments, not just basic questions. Go deeper with emotions.

Identify what’s holding a person back. People forget they’re good.

Use a holistic approach to connect.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by supporting the collective of healing through love and wellness, one dope human at a time. We all need to feel to heal…
