Hi Fani, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Lifestyle Lashes Beauty Studio started as my own need for human interaction during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been working the front line in the medical field for the past 11 years and it really took a toll on me when places started closing down, including my church.
I remember working in patient care with a full PPE on, my eyes were the only thing that could connect me with others and people started noticing my lash extensions and complimenting them. At first, asking if they were my own natural lashes because of how natural they looked! As compliments started rising, the idea of learning more about lash extensions really interested me.
I am very much a goal-oriented person and I constantly need new challenges to look forward to. During my furlough from work, I decided to enroll in beauty school and acquire a new technique, in my case, it was the art of lash extensions.
I finished school, became a licensed lash technician in the state of Minnesota, and started doing lashes from my living room. I later met a beautiful young woman, named Hilda, who also owned her own beauty business, she invited me to share a suite with her at Sola Salons and so I did. I focused and learned about marketing and with the help of my husband Levi, together we made a strategic business plan that I followed and it’s from there that my clientele grew rapidly, with only 4 months with Sola Salons I decided to leave, and I decided to move into my own suite in the city of Richfield, MN.
With now having my own space I made it very aesthetically pleasing. A beautiful bohemian-style lash studio. I focused on promoting in Spanish, my native language. My reason, I love mi gente. Coming from a Spanish speaking family I know the challenges we can face when there is a language barrier and so I wanted to become a Spanish language beauty provider in Minnesota. A place where we can talk in our native tongues, listen to our own musica while getting your lashes done, but most importantly, explain to my Spanish speaking clients the procedure and the aftercare of lash extensions in their own language and be able to answer all of their questions.
I’ve also had the honor to be invited to Spanish radio stations and be interviewed, which also helped grow my clientele and my social media following even more. I started becoming more involved with the Spanish speaking industry here in MN and started receiving messages inquiring about trainings. People wanted to learn how I grew my business and they wanted me to teach them. The day of today I offer a variety of private courses, from social media, content creation, business management and lash courses in both English and in Spanish, with my “Intro to Lash extensions” being my most popular course. Teaching has definitely become something that I enjoy so much and I look forward to it every single time.
I just want to include how amazing my clients are, they really go above and beyond and constantly shout me out on social media, share my work on their pages, refer me to their friends and family and it is thanks to them that Lifestyle Lashes Beauty Studio is what it is the day of today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were obstacles along the way for sure. I do truly believe that when I approach an obstacle I always think about how to overcome it. I truly believe that your mindset in the approach will determine how big that obstacle is. One example is when I rented my own space, it needed to be brought to my liking, that’s when we decided to remodel it and now I have turned it into my space. A space that I can call Lifestyle Lashes Beauty Studio.

What started out as the application of lash extensions has now led to teaching others. My specialty is people. I enhance people’s natural beauty. I’m very much known for my social media content. Many people have given me the nickname of “The Reel Queen” on Instagram. One thing that definitely sets me apart from others is offering my trainings in Spanish. I am mostly proud of the loyalty I have created. I really feel my clients are loyal to me and trust me. I want people to know that as we speak, I am still thinking of being able to do more.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think there’s risk in everything that we do but you have to look at how prepared you are and that will determine the level of risk.
