Today we’d like to introduce you to Glenna Ingeman.
Hi Glenna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started when I was 15 years old and went full force. Now, almost 32, I have now photographed 100s of sessions, with a focus in weddings. I spent many years in between starting and going full force, completely shut off from photography. I met my now husband, who completely changed my outlook on following your dreams.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No of course not. Nothing is smooth. I ended my career when I was 21. I struggled with a mental illness and didn’t have the capacity. Getting my mental side of my life under control has allowed me to work this and a full-time job. One thing I would want to say to you, you can get through whatever life throws at you. It may not be easy, it may break you along the way, but it is worth getting out to the other side.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Weddings that are true to life and full of memories. I don’t over do my editing and keep it true. I am most proud to say, I love Elska Photography LLC and that it stands for “love of photography”.
I offer all types of photography. Weddings will always be my jam but day-to-day photography has my heart. I spend months in between weddings with families of all sizes, high school seniors that can’t wait to start their life, and children who just want the session to be over. I make sessions fun and unique to the couple, family, whoever I’m working with.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was that shy kid sitting in the front of the room because I didn’t have glasses yet. Got glasses, turned into the class shutout. Met my lifelong friends young in life and never let them go. I was always the one taking the photo, not the one in the photo. I wanted to shut out from the world until I found photography. Photography has literally been an escape for me. My creative outlook – my mental break.
