Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Crowley.
Hi Jane, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My mother and I started a tan and travel business back in 1986, our business went hand in hand, our clients that were traveling to the beaches during the Minnesota Winters were tanning. Or the brides getting married wanted to be tan for their wedding and then I would help them plan their honeymoons.
Today we book lots of Europe, and Alaska, large family trips, destinations weddings, honeymoons, and any type of “getaways” I love helping my clients have their dreams come true. One of my clients calls me her dream maker.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No…. it has not been a smooth road. But I never ever thought of giving up. Since 1986 we had one office fire and 4 major floods. Our storefront is darling and very unique with great parking, but near the Cedar River…. our office feels like home….cozy and inviting!!!! Then Covid hit and all we were doing is canceling trips, after months of planning trips, NO ONE was traveling. We had many tough days. I am very thankful we survived!!
My Dad owned his own business also. I watched my dad experience tough times too, but he always kept going and fought through the tough times. That’s what got our office through Covid, remembering what he all went through. Tough times do not last forever…. and I have the very best clients.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a family business that treats our clients as family. We specialize in destination weddings and honeymoons. We help with all travel plans. With the long Minnesota Winters, we also offer tanning, We are a full-service travel agency and tanning salon. We have been in business since 1986. We are great partners with Delta Vacations.
I attend Delta Vacations seminars and travel a lot to see where I am sending my wonderful clients. It all started booking my clients on their College Spring Break trips, now I am booking their children on their Spring Breaks. I believe it is very important to know your clients. They really do become great friends.
What matters most to you? Why?
My clients and making sure they are happy. I love listening to my clients so I find them the “perfect” vacation spot…..To love what I do!!! I don’t think you can be good at your job unless you LOVE it!!!!
And I really LOVE coming to work!!! I love to TRAVEL…..it helps me sell all of these amazing places. Now, with Covid behind us, we can not wait to see the world because you never know….life is about making memories. I love helping my clients make memories!!!
