Jenna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m a small-town Minnesota author, podcaster, educator, and photographer with big dreams and the #1 Marketing Podcast in the country.
I didn’t always have this business: the clients, the courses, the book, the sales, the millions of downloads…
In fact, just a decade ago you could have found me wearing red and khaki, exhausted in my stuffy windowless office. I thought I had landed my dream job, but that dream turned into a ladder-climbing nightmare.
At the age of 23, I invested in a $300 Craigslist camera. Little did I know, that camera would be my one-way ticket out of my windowless office corporate job. That single investment led me to the 7-figure empire I’m running today (and a bestselling book that tells the whole story). Today you can find me snuggled up in my cozy Minnesota craftsman with my two pups or basking on the beaches of Lake Superior with my husband and our beautiful girls.
What lights me up? Helping women harness the power to take control of their lives. Busting the myth of balance. Redefining a person’s beauty in a world that tells us who to be. Shining a spotlight on glorious truths so we can all find our way back to a life that is truly our own. I believe that change happens where the woo meets the work.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! I’ve experienced burnout, dead ends, failed ideas, health issues, you name it — a lot of times when you become an entrepreneur, it’s because you’re so excited to get paid to do what you love. But often, running a business means doing all of the things surrounding that passion and wearing all the hats.
Your success or failure hinges on your work and dedication to it and so it can turn into something that you pursued to get more freedom but instead, you feel stuck or trapped. I’ve pivoted many times in my career to follow my many passions, and in that, I’ve learned about myself more than ever.

I’m a digital marketing expert, self-education mastermind, book-writing, podcast recording, and individualist, small-town puppy parent, frequent flier, and official pancake-flipper for my happy fam of four. I create the resources to help you unlock the life you’ve been dreaming of. My book “How Are You, Really?” hit the New York Times list instantly. I’ve taught thousands upon thousands of students through my digital marketing courses.
What sets you apart?
Well, I’m just like you. I’m answering these questions on my couch in my sweatpants after putting my daughters to bed. I made mac and cheese for my toddler and have squash stains on my shirt from my baby. My dogs bark every time the UPS guy comes and I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night wondering, “Is this what my life is supposed to be?” I’m imperfectly empowering women by sharing my own journey and teaching what I’m learning on my way.
