Community Highlights: Meet Jennifer Geier of Some Like It Hot and Gluten Free

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Geier.

Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease over 9 years ago. It was a major lifestyle change but it really made me dive into cooking and baking gluten free foods. Adjusting recipes to be gluten free took a lot of practice and so many errors! But finding gluten free baked goods is almost impossible and birthdays without cake are tough! So in 2019, I became a Cottage Food Producer offering only gluten free treats!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is hard and starting a business in 2019 was definitely a rough one! With so much uncertainty, I did close my doors for awhile. I still posted recipes for people to try and got a lot of baking practice in!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Some Like It Hot and Gluten Free?
I specialize in all things gluten free! I especially love doing decorated sugar cookies and collecting cookie cutters! I offer gourmet cookies, cupcakes, macarons, chocolates, hot cocoa bombs, cakesicles and so much more as well! I love playing with new recipes and sharing when they turn out great! I really enjoy being a resource for people newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease or people new to a gluten free diet. I want to show people that gluten free food can taste just as amazing!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most of my customers are not gluten free! They just enjoy the food! I love that my customers can bring this to a birthday party and no one can tell it’s gluten free!
