Community Highlights: Meet Jenny Ramseth of Olive Branch Oil & Spice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Ramseth.

Hi Jenny, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved cooking and brining friends and family together around a table of great food. Creating simple, delicious recipes with high quality ingredients has long been a passion of mine. My husband and I often talked about how someday we’d love to own a shop that sold the very best ingredients. When we learned that Olive Branch Oil & Spice in White Bear Lake was for sale, we realized our “someday” could happen now. We went from customers to owners and jumped right in. We introduced my original spice blends, rebranded and remodeled the space and curated a collection of exceptional ingredients. A year later, we opened a second location in Woodbury and are excited to continue bringing great ingredients to our community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most small businesses, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. Stepping into ownership meant learning quickly – from understanding our customers and what they were looking for, to building a strong network of suppliers and producers, to mastering the day-to-day operations of running a store. Opening a second location came with its own set of challenges, but each challenge has helped us become more thoughtful and grounded in what matters most: serving our customers.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Olive Branch Oil & Spice?
Olive Branch Oil & Spice is a small, family owned business that offers the highest quality oils & vinegars, fresh small batch spices & blends, delicious local specialty foods and beautiful items for your kitchen and home.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to stay focused on what truly matters. Everything in the store is something I personally use and love. Listening to our customers, staying true to our values, and building genuine relationships with our team, partners, and customers are what make our shop unique.
