Community Highlights: Meet Jimmy Brown of Midwest Handy-Pro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimmy Brown

Hi Jimmy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Father passed away when I was around eight years old, left my mother with three boys i was the oldest. So growing up I would be the one putting together all the furniture that needed to be assembled. Those skills led me to working in the community for Tree Trust and the Youth Farm where my talents began to develop. After high school got certified in power hydraulic tools and began doing a lot of warehouse work. I ended eventually getting a job at Menards becoming an assistant manager in the hardware department from there working full time at Home Depot. At these companies I learned a lot about the trades to where I eventually started my own business. Ten years in and I’ve worked all around the U.S. doing everything you can imagine commercial and residential and properties. I have a certificate for lead renovator, graduated 20 week entrepreneurship program, hold a real estate license and inspection certification. I have commercial credits with the The Armory first Super Bowl in Minnesota, Ruby Tuesday, Home Goods, Animal Hospital, Fjallraven, and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has not been a smooth road a lot goes into business and organizing. Getting the right people in your corner can be difficult at times and dealing with lead generating companies in the beginning can be the worse. I learned that making great connections can get you far and doing great work can get you further.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Midwest Handy-Pro was established naturally through hard work and dedication. We have been in business over 10 years with over 20 years of experience. We specialize in all real estate improvements e.g. upkeep, maintenance, and refashioning. I’m known for my high end quality of work and my knowledge in the industry. Affordability and availability sets me apart from my competitors also my eagerness to leave my customers 100 percent satisfied. We have become a household name, brand wise we are all over the internet and social media, we have also serviced 100’s of clients. We service Minnesota but will also travel out of the state depending on the scope of work. Midwest Handy-Pro offers discounts on many products through our vendor relationships, we also have a team skilled in multiple areas in the housing market.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the industry only expanding with mortgage rates soon to be dropping which result in more homeowners. Almost all real estate has some degree of upkeep required and maintenance is a necessity. We receive a lot of referrals and our marketing team is only getting stronger. We will become a major household name in the next few years.
