Community Highlights: Meet Linda Lee of Linink Tattoo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linda Lee.

Hi Linda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2015, I was drawing in the basement using pens and Sharpies for fun because I had nothing to do and was bored during the summer. I didn’t realize how good the drawings turned out, and that’s when it became a hobby—and eventually, a form of art—drawing on skin.

I’ve always loved drawing growing up, but I was afraid to pursue it. Over time, I started doing henna, which allowed designs to stay on the skin for a couple of days. Although it stained a lot of clothing and bed sheets, I was able to provide my clients with temporary tattoos that lasted a few days.

A lot of people encouraged me to start tattooing, but I was afraid—afraid of needles, blood, and people fainting. After three years of henna tattooing, I finally stopped. My hand started to give out, and I couldn’t do what I thought I could anymore.

After taking a break for years, I found myself working job after job, but I always ended up doodling and drawing inside my notebook. Eventually, I was diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), and I found myself constantly battling medications and lifestyle changes.

I reached out to some artists with my portfolio, and a few of them encouraged me to keep going, to keep drawing. During my infusion treatments, I was able to draw and express more of my skills. But of course, I gave up again.

My final push came when I was going into surgery. I told myself, “Life’s too short. If I was able to conquer all these battles and life changes, I shouldn’t be afraid to try something new.” That’s when I started looking into tattoo shops and sharing my art—on both skin and paper. Eventually, I landed at a shop that helped me start my career.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a tattoo artist comes with its fair share of struggles and bumps along the road. Over time, it can really start to wear on you—whether it’s your artwork, technique, keeping up with trends and styles, or even just learning how to communicate with clients. There are so many factors that can become mentally draining.

When I first started, I was thrown to the wolves and had to figure everything out on my own. No real guidance, just trial and error. And even after years of tattooing, I feel like one of the biggest ongoing struggles is still trusting your own direction and guidance when it comes to creating art. That inner battle never fully goes away.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Linink Tattoo ?
I’m a tattoo artist with a deep-rooted love for art that started back in my childhood and truly took form in 2015. What began as casual drawings with Sharpies for fun eventually evolved into a meaningful path—one that led me through henna art, personal health battles, and ultimately, into the world of tattooing.

What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?

I specialize in custom tattoos that carry intention and personal connection. I’m known for bringing a unique artistic touch to every piece, blending fine line work with bold creativity. Whether it’s delicate detail or something more expressive, I focus on making sure each piece fits the story or energy of the person wearing it. My background in henna also adds a soft, ornamental style to some of my tattoo designs that clients really connect with.

What sets you apart from others?

I think what sets me apart is my journey and the personal approach I take with each client. I don’t see tattooing as just a service—it’s a collaboration, an experience, and often a form of healing or transformation for people. I’ve been through my own battles with health and self-doubt, so I understand what it means to find meaning in art. I bring that care and presence into every session.

What are you most proud of brand-wise?

I’m most proud of how my brand has stayed true to who I am. It’s not just about trends or aesthetics—it’s about building genuine connections, creating safe and welcoming spaces for all clients, and using art as a form of self-expression and empowerment.

What do you want readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc?

I want people to know that when they book with me, they’re not just getting a tattoo—they’re part of a creative process. I offer fully custom tattoos, one-on-one consultations, and a no-judgment space where ideas can come to life. Whether you’re getting your first tattoo or adding to a growing collection, I make sure each piece is done with heart, intention, and care.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are a few ways to connect and support what I do:

Book a Tattoo Appointment: The best way to work with me is by booking a session. I offer custom designs tailored to your ideas and story. I love collaborating with clients to create something meaningful and unique.

Reach Out for Collaborations: Whether you’re another artist, a brand, or someone with a creative vision, I’m always open to collaborating—whether it’s art projects, events, or community work. I love connecting with other creatives and seeing what we can build together.

Follow & Share My Work: Supporting doesn’t always have to mean booking. Following my journey on social media, liking, sharing, or recommending my work to others goes a long way. Word-of-mouth and community support have helped me grow more than anything else.

Buy Prints or Merch (if applicable): If I have prints, flash designs, or any merch available, purchasing those directly supports my art and helps me keep creating.

No matter how you connect—whether it’s through art, conversation, or community—your support means everything.
