Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Lorenz.
Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Mary Lorenz, RN: From Bedside to Boardroom—A Journey of Care, Compassion, and Courage
When you meet Mary Lorenz, RN, you quickly realize that her story is not just about nursing—it’s about resilience, vision, and the courage to reimagine healthcare.
Mary’s path into nursing was anything but ordinary. She began her career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and later advanced to become a Trained Medication Aide (TMA). Those early years, spent at the bedside, shaped her understanding of compassion in its purest form—the small acts of care that often mean the most. Fueled by her desire to grow and serve on a deeper level, Mary pursued her Registered Nursing (RN) degree, earning a place on the Dean’s List, a recognition that highlighted her dedication and excellence.
Today, Mary proudly serves in the Inpatient Neurosurgery Department at Mayo Clinic, where she has honed her expertise in brain and spine care. This highly specialized field demands precision, empathy, and resilience—qualities Mary embodies daily. Her work with patients navigating some of life’s most complex medical challenges speaks volumes about her clinical expertise and unwavering commitment.
But Mary’s story doesn’t stop at the hospital bedside. With the heart of a caregiver and the mind of an entrepreneur, she recently founded Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy Spa, where she serves as President and Founder. The spa represents a bold new chapter—bringing wellness, hydration, and preventative health to her community. Through Jamii Agewell, Mary is creating a space where healthcare blends seamlessly with self-care, helping clients “glow from within” and prioritize their well-being.
Mary’s leadership extends beyond healthcare. She is an active chamber member, embedding her business within the community and championing growth and collaboration. Her entrepreneurial spirit is as inspiring as her nursing journey—proof that a nurse’s impact can extend far beyond hospital walls.
What makes Mary’s journey truly unique is the way she has continuously built upon her foundation in patient care, never losing sight of her calling to heal and uplift others. From CNA to RN, from bedside care to business ownership, Mary has transformed her passion into purpose.
Her story is a reminder that nursing isn’t just a career—it’s a calling, and one that can evolve in powerful and unexpected ways. For Mary, the journey has always been about service: to patients, to her community, and now, through Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy Spa, to a new generation of wellness seekers.
Mary Lorenz stands as a testament to what’s possible when compassion meets ambition. Her voice, her vision, and her unwavering dedication to care make her not just a nurse, but a leader and innovator who is reshaping the future of healthcare—one patient, one client, and one community at a time
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it’s been a journey filled with both challenges and growth. Going back to school as an adult was one of my biggest hurdles. Balancing academics with work and personal responsibilities wasn’t always easy, but it taught me resilience and discipline. More recently, stepping into entrepreneurship has brought its own set of challenges. Starting a new business requires navigating so many moving parts—from planning and financing to building community connections. It can feel overwhelming at times, but each challenge has pushed me to grow in new ways. I’ve learned that obstacles aren’t roadblocks—they’re stepping stones that shape the journey and make the successes even more meaningful
As you know, we’re big fans of Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy Spa was born from my passion for merging healthcare with wellness in a way that truly serves people where they are. At our spa, we specialize in IV hydration therapy—providing clients with vitamin-infused drips that support hydration, energy, immune health, and overall vitality.
What sets Jamii Agewell apart is the combination of clinical expertise and a luxury wellness experience. With my background in neurosurgery nursing, I bring a deep understanding of the science behind brain, spine, and overall health—ensuring our clients not only feel pampered, but also safe and cared for at a medical standard.
We’re especially proud of our advanced offerings in weight management and anti-aging therapies, including NAD+ infusions. NAD+ is a groundbreaking therapy that supports cellular repair, boosts energy, sharpens mental clarity, and promotes healthy aging from within. For clients looking to enhance longevity and wellness while maintaining a vibrant, youthful lifestyle, NAD+ is one of the most powerful options available today.
Brand-wise, I am proud that Jamii Agewell represents community, healing, and empowerment. Our name itself—Jamii—means “community,” and that’s at the heart of what we do. We’re not just about IV drips; we’re about creating a space where people can invest in themselves, restore balance, and age well with confidence.
For readers, I’d love them to know that Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy Spa is more than a wellness service—it’s an experience. We’re here to help you glow from within and live with energy, strength, and longevity.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk-taking is a necessary part of growth. Without stepping outside of your comfort zone, you miss the opportunity to discover what you’re truly capable of. For me, one of the biggest risks was going back to school as an adult to pursue my RN degree. It required financial investment, time, and the courage to start fresh in a very demanding field—but that risk opened the door to an incredibly fulfilling career.
Another major leap was launching Jamii Agewell IV Hydration Therapy Spa. Starting a business is always risky—you don’t know how the market will respond, you’re investing resources, and you’re putting your reputation and passion on the line. But I’ve learned that calculated risks, when aligned with your values and vision, often lead to the most rewarding outcomes.
I don’t view risk as something to fear; I see it as an opportunity to grow, adapt, and build resilience. Even when things don’t go exactly as planned, there’s always a lesson that moves you closer to your goals.
