Community Highlights: Meet Michelle Hansen of MOON SHADOW HEALING ARTS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Hansen.

Hi Michelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been a massage therapist since 2003. I took my first abdominal therapy course in 2008 and have not looked back. I have found abdominal therapy absolutely fascinating and the healing I have witnessed on thousands of clients has been something to marvel at. Beginning with my very first client. She could not get pregnant. They had been trying for a year. Her doctor told her she would need IVF. I excitedly asked her if I could try the new techniques I just learned on her.. It worked! She got pregnant with her next ovulation!

Over the years, I have taken other forms of abdominal therapy training and continued to deepen my work. I love working on clients, but even more… I love teaching abdominal therapy to other practitioners. This work is so desperately needed and I am just 1 person. My goal is to train as many passionate practitioners as I can so clients can easily get in for an appointments.

Prior to being a massage therapist, I was a nurse. The fast pace of medicine was not my cup of tea. I love the slow meditative pace of massage therapy. And I love the community and friendships I have built over the years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have always had a fairly full schedule as a massage therapist, but as an abdominal therapist, my schedule was getting too busy. I was booked out for months until I began training other therapists.

What I want is to promote my training and let others know that Embodied Traditions™ Holistic Abdominal Therapy exists for clients to heal and for practitioners to learn!

As you know, we’re big fans of MOON SHADOW HEALING ARTS. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My abdominal Therapy business is Moon Shadow Healing Arts
My training is Embodied Traditions™ Holistic Abdominal Therapy

I specialize in abdominal therapy and I teach other practitioners the techniques I have used for years. What sets me apart from others is that I have continued to train in several other modalities and each additional modality I’ve studied has added new layers of insight and filled in the gaps that a single tradition alone could not address.

If you don’t want competition, be the best. There is no competition when you’re the best! I don’t mean this to sound arrogant at all. I worked in a setting for a long time where there was a lot of competition and I had to keep up. It was an amazing challenge!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
#1 Spending time with my grandfather!
#2 Large family gatherings on my grandparents farm
