Community Highlights: Meet Nicki Lemmon of Lemmon Yoga + Wellness Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicki Lemmon.

Hi Nicki, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I loved sports growing up and it didn’t take me long to learn that going through the ups and downs of sports were parallel to the highs and lows of life. At the age of 17, I went out for Miss Augusta (the small town I grew up in) and my speech was “life is a game”.

I heard my father’s voice echo, “go to school for something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” .It made perfect sense to go to college for Kinesiology (the study of the body as it relates to movement)

I graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked as a holistic health coach and as a floor lead for lululemon as I gained multiple yoga + fitness certifications and gained thousands of hours of experience teaching all over the world.

Currently, I specialize in yoga for athletes and teams because of the athlete in me.

I also am passionate about inclusion and bringing amazing humans together. With that, we do retreats and fun events.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not a smooth road. Just like a game, there are wins and losses, injuries and recoveries, loss of confidence and highs!

My very first class was chaos. My first business was paddle board yoga which evolved to retreats. Learning how to calm teenage athletes’ energy took a learning curve as well.

This is why I charge what I do. Every hurdle, every difficult experience has given me a wealth of knowledge that I would not have if I hadn’t tried and failed.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love people and believe the more amazing souls around, the better. I have a group on Instagram that I just started for fun called “spiritual gangsters”. We all chat in it and do wellness events around the Twin Cities together because we just like to do more than bars. (although sometimes we do drink and do wellness events 🙂

We just want to experience life with amazing people. All are welcome. Follow me and message me if you want me to add you to the group to do cool adventures 🙂

Otherwise, keep me in mind for team building and yoga for your athlete. I have tons of experience working with different high school teams in MN + WI as well as professional athletes. It is not just about reducing injury. It’s about being fit from within too.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I rent a house in Tampa, and we do yoga and have fun a couple of times a year. We split the cost with a little more so we can pay for yoga and supplies but it ends up being a group of amazing people in a warm home during dark cold MN months. My house is your house. Stay tuned for the next Tampa time.
