Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Rients
Hi Patrick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in the golf industry when I got heavily interested in long drive golf events where I traveled to compete in competitions. This initially started me on the path of inventing a swing speed trainer. That is when covid came and that business did not get the start I had hoped and golf simulators became really popular. My planning went to opening a simulator business for people to come and rent by the hour in a lounge type atmosphere, however after planning out and getting financials for that business, it was very expensive. So I built a simulator in my garage and in Fall 2022 I posted my services on Facebook marketplace to help others. It grew into a good side hustle before taking off. I decided to make the jump in January 2024 to be full time. Since making the jump, we are closing in on $1 million in total sales. I started by using our family Chevy Equinox to deliver all the products to now having a cargo van with company logo’s and doing it all without needing to use any debt to fund the business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road by any means. There has been a lot of learning. Trying not to make mistakes but the inevitably come. Lately I have noticed there must be a hiccup in the sales process where clients will Ghost me and any follow up attempts. Like any business, there is refining of a process to get things ironed out to efficiently move forward.
The biggest struggles are mostly mental, needing to realize everything has an ebb and flow to them and dealing with competition (even in a Niche environment).

My first homerun in baseball. It was in 5th grade and no one had ever hit one until that day and the dugout and parents were all excited to see it happen.
