Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayshell Taylor
Hi Rayshell, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved to Minneapolis in 1996. During my last year in high school I was a head cashier at Target W. Broadway in Mpls. (T180). During that time I became pregnant and became a mom in 1998. At this time I had to provide for my child so I took a temp job with Fairview IT and that was the beginning of my Administrative Career. Christine Larson saw something in me and took me through the proper channels to classify my self as a receptionist/sectary which was my dream job. I owe her every bit of gratitude. While working and being a mom I found solitude in watching the Food Network Channel. Watching all the chefs from when they first started til now just inspired me to cook and cook better than the mundane meat, starch, and veggie.
I started Uniquely Catered2 LLC in 2019 but I did not even entertain the thought until COVID. During that time I perfected alot of my dishes and kept learning. Cooking is also my love language. I cook old school with a dash of modern practices. I am on a healthy journey so I value trying to stay as natural and healthy as possible, yet I will cater to your unique needs, pun intended. My dishes range from Pasta, to southern, to fresh, infused, and decadent desserts.
I pride my self in my knifing skills, prep style and time management to insure every dish is as tasty as it first leaves the pan/oven.
I love cooking.
My children are 26, 13, and 10 and I thrive off their opinions as well as their request. I know I’m a Xennials dealing with millennial’s and GEN Z but we thrive as a unit and they keep me current. So I have no problem making the tik-tok trending food for them. its fun.
I am Certified and I’m expanding as we speak. I will be out at community events and sharing my love for Music, healing and cooking all summer and fall long.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well the path to greatness has never been smooth. What lead me to this path is being homeless. That took a toll on me and currently I am as well. I believe the greater powers are pushing me to be more do more and give more. Not having anyone to fall on or get support from takes a toll on your feminine energy there for I had to armor up in my masculine. So the best thing as a single parent was to have residual income. I couldn’t bare being in that situation again. On 6.14.24 I was fired from a job a loved with all my heart due to the demographic I served and they took that from me, but once again I was given a huge opportunity right after that which has lead me here. so would I say it was an obstacle or a divine blessing towards my destined path. hmm.

Uniquely Catered2 LLC is a Black woman owned local business out of Minneapolis Mn. I am the CEO and owner Ray’Shell Taylor. Established 6.1.20 with one 1 band, me.
We cater to your unique needs from budget, to size and taste. We specialize in Southern style comfort foods, but can accommodate most request. Currently we are booking up to 300 guest with 2 months advance notice.
Smaller groups can be accommodated as well.

Energy. I cook from healing hands. I heal with my food and my love for the food I prepare. My integrity and how I prepare my food and how it is served. A lot of people cook for money. I do not I want you to feel full loved and amazed that someone cared that body about how I nourish my soul and body. That’s what matters to me. Uniquely.
