Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Chandler.
Hi Stephanie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Real estate is in my blood. Some of my earliest memories are of tagging along with my mom and grandma as they showed homes across the Twin Cities, I remember sitting in on open houses, listening to them talk shop in the car between appointments. I didn’t know it then, but I was getting my education early!
I’ve always been someone who wanted to get going. I started at the University of Minnesota when I was 16, and as soon as I could, I jumped into the business alongside my mom as her assistant. I became one of the youngest loan officers at Edina Realty, got my real estate license shortly after, and officially became a third-generation Realtor® following directly in my mom’s and grandma’s footsteps.
From there, I said yes to just about every corner of the industry. When a client asked me about a local rental, I leaned into it and became one of Edina’s first agents to sell rentals and eventually training other agents on the process. As the market shifted, I moved back into residential sales, but I brought my rental clients with me helping them become owners. Over the years, I’ve worked with first-time buyers and sellers, represented luxury home builders, and renovated homes around St. Paul. Within the last decade, I became one of Edina’s top 5 agents and one of the top 20 in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Today, I’m proud to be a founding agent of Compass Edina, a chapter that feels like the perfect evolution of everything I’ve worked toward. Our office is built on a foundation of open collaboration, surrounded by colleagues who genuinely believe there is room for everyone to succeed. What drives me most hasn’t changed since I was that little kid in the back seat, watching my mom and grandma do what they loved. I love helping people, and I love guiding clients through the emotional journey of buying or selling a home. Getting to witness someone’s dream become reality is still the greatest privilege of this job!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not always smooth! Real estate has a way of humbling you just when you think you’ve got it figured out. Early on, I had to learn how to balance the emotional weight of this work with the business side of things, which is a skill that takes time to develop. There were slow stretches, difficult transactions, and moments where I questioned whether I was doing enough. What kept me going was always coming back to the “why” behind the work: the people. When you genuinely love what you do, the hard seasons become easier to push through.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Stephanie Chandler Group?
We believe that people deserve an expert they can truly trust. I come from a family of Realtors, and over the past 20 years I’ve had the privilege of building a team that brings over 80 years of combined experience across real estate, mortgage, and title services. We are a very high producing team but every transaction gets our full expertise and attention, from a luxury new build to a first-time home buyer. What sets us apart is the way we show up for our clients. We’ve been last-minute babysitters so parents could see homes. We’ve personally deep-cleaned ahead of showings to wow potential buyers. From our signature staging and professional photography to our in-house marketing specialist who handles digital ads, open house events, and promotions for every listing, I have a whole team behind me to take care of every detail. We are always available and always looking ahead to make sure the process is as smooth as possible. Our clients remember the little things most, and that’s exactly the point. We strive to offer a true concierge style white glove service for our clients from start to finish.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The biggest thing I wish someone had told me early on is that you cannot do it all alone. Building a career in real estate can feel very independent, but the agents who truly thrive are the ones who lean into their community, ask for help, and invest in the people around them. I would also say, chase every single learning opportunity that comes your way, whether that is a training, a mentor, or simply shadowing someone you admire. There is a lot to learn and a lot of people happy to share, you don’t have to do it alone! This business rewards curiosity and humility in equal measure. Show up, stay open, and never stop learning.
