Community Highlights: Meet Stephanie Page of Stories Foundation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Page.

Stephanie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2012, my mom and I learned about human trafficking. At the time, we followed a give-back coffee shop in D.C. and thought we could do that. Start a coffee shop that gives back to fight human trafficking. In April of 2025, we finally opened Storyteller Cafe, a nonprofit give-back coffee shop. Between 2012 and 2025, we started a nonprofit, put on countless awareness events and conferences, collaborated and supported other anti-human trafficking nonprofits, started doing prevention work with kids, teens, and families, and worked on a case-by-case basis with survivors and those vulnerable.

Storyteller Cafe is now a hub for all of this work, a light counteracting the darkness of human trafficking in our communities.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has not been a smooth road. Helping people understand human trafficking and what it looks like locally, pointing out the cultural reasons we have human trafficking and exploitation and fundraising to change systems; all of this is hard work that doesn’t produce an immediate result. Sustainable change takes time and intention. In our quick fix, fast results culture this isn’t easy.

As you know, we’re big fans of Stories Foundation. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Stories Foundation is an anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization. We spread awareness about human trafficking, do prevention work with kids and teens by talking about healthy and unhealthy relationships as well as working with survivors and those vulnerable by offering wrap arounds services. We use social impact business to engage the community in greater awareness and different avenues of funding, through purposeful purchasing. We believe every single person has a story and every story matters.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
My faith in God and my personal relationship with Jesus Christ has informed my life from a young age. I want others to know the love, peace and purpose I have found through living a life of faith. I also believe that I am a representative of God in the world, of his love and restoration where our world is hard, broken and hurting. This has shaped the work I do now.
