Hi Tony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I actually started back in 2017 when I was still in high school. I had saved up enough to buy my first drone — I just loved flying and capturing the world from above. There was something about seeing things from a different perspective that really stuck with me.
My now father-in-law saw that interest and pushed me to get my commercial pilot’s license so I could actually use it for work. That was a big turning point. From there, I started doing commercial aerial shoots and slowly got more connected with businesses that needed professional visuals.
Over time, I tried a few different things — I even got into wedding videography for a while — but I eventually realized that my passion wasn’t in weddings. It was in real estate. I loved capturing spaces, especially the design and purpose behind them.
At first, we took on both residential and commercial projects to figure out where we fit best. But as we grew, it became clear that our real niche — and where we really stand out — is in commercial real estate. That’s where Harris Studios is fully focused now.
It’s been a really fun journey — starting with a drone I saved up for in high school and turning it into something much bigger. Now it’s about helping brands, developers, and brokers tell their story through visuals that actually move their business forward.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like with anything worth building, it definitely hasn’t been perfectly smooth — but that’s all part of it. Going into this, and even with my other business experiences, I understood there would naturally be learning lessons along the way.
We’ve had times where we missed a client’s expectations, dealt with unpredictable weather, or even got a drone stuck on a building just trying to get the perfect shot. It happens. But every one of those moments taught us something.
Over time, we’ve really learned to embrace that process — to take the challenges, learn from them, and use them to refine our brand, our approach, and our systems. It’s all helped us grow into what Harris Studios is today: a company focused on consistently delivering exceptional results for our clients while always getting a little better with each project.
