Hi Yuliana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story began with a simple desire: to build something of my own, something I could create from the ground up and proudly call mine.
I’ve always enjoyed makeup and creativity, but I never imagined that passion would grow into a business, a brand, and eventually a career that I truly love.
When I first shared my story, I was focused on building my makeup brand and growing my online business within the beauty industry. Over the years, that journey continued to evolve in ways I never expected. What started with my makeup brand eventually expanded into professional makeup services and later into opening a makeup academy, where I now have the privilege of educating and mentoring aspiring makeup artists.
The journey has come with many lessons, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Entrepreneurship requires patience, resilience, and a willingness to continue learning and adapting.
I am also a woman of faith, and I truly believe I would not be where I am today without God’s grace and guidance throughout this journey. Hard work, discipline, and perseverance have all played an important role, but my faith has been what has sustained me through both the challenges and the victories along the way.
Today, one of the most rewarding parts of my journey is knowing that my work extends beyond products and services. What started as a dream of building something of my own has grown into the opportunity to help others build something of their own as well through beauty, education, and mentorship.
None of this would have been possible without the support of my clients, students, family, friends, and the community that has believed in me throughout the years. I am deeply grateful for every person who has trusted my work, supported my business, and been part of this journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been moments of uncertainty, difficult decisions, and situations that pushed me far outside of my comfort zone. Building a business often means continuing to move forward even when the outcome is uncertain.
As an entrepreneur, I have also learned that building and growing a business in a country that wasn’t originally your own can bring its own unique challenges and learning experiences.
Looking back, many of those challenges became some of my greatest lessons.
We’ve been impressed with DRAMA GIRL MAKEUP BY YULIANA , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Drama Girl Makeup by Yuliana is a beauty business that combines artistry, education, and entrepreneurship.
My goal has always been about more than products or services. Whether I am working with clients or students, I want people to leave feeling more confident, empowered, and inspired than when they arrived.
Through my makeup services, I have the opportunity to help my clients feel beautiful, confident, and celebrate important moments in their lives. Through my academy, I have the privilege of helping women grow professionally, believe in themselves, develop new skills, and discover that they are capable of building careers and businesses of their own.
One of the most rewarding parts of my journey has been watching students gain confidence not only in their artistry, but in themselves and in what they are capable of achieving.
What started as a passion for makeup has grown into an opportunity to encourage, educate, and support others as they pursue goals and dreams of their own.
That impact has become one of the most meaningful parts of the work that I do.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the beauty industry will continue moving toward education, personalization, and authenticity.
Today, clients are looking for more than just products or services—they want experiences, expertise, and genuine connections with the professionals they work with.
I also believe we will continue to see more people pursuing careers and entrepreneurship within the beauty industry, creating opportunities for individuals to build flexible and fulfilling careers doing what they love.
Social media and technology will continue influencing trends and the way we learn, market, and connect with clients, but I believe skill, professionalism, and continuous education will always remain the foundation of long-term success.
As both an educator and business owner, I think adaptability and a commitment to learning will become even more important in the years ahead as our industry continues to evolve.
