Conversations with Brianna White

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna White.

Hi Brianna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started posting makeup tutorials on Youtube and doing makeup for friends and classmates when I was a teenager — a starting point I’m sure many makeup artists can relate to. After high school, I went on to college and about halfway through, the 2020 pandemic hit. My classes were all moved online and I temporarily lost my serving job, so I suddenly found myself with a lot of free time.

That’s when I really started experimenting; playing with color, trying out bold looks and pushing my creativity. People had frequently complimented my makeup skills over the years, but I never actually considered turning it into a career.

Even after that, I eventually graduated college and started working full-time at a local travel agency. It wasn’t until 2023 that I decided to take makeup seriously and put myself out there. I completed a makeup safety and sanitation course, and that’s when I officially launched my small business, “Face Card by Bri.” From there, I started building my portfolio, working with local photographers and models, and it’s just grown from there.

Because of my travel agent background and experience doing bridal makeup, I’ve expanded my business so that clients can contact me to plan their honeymoon as well! It felt like a natural next step — I get to help couples feel their best on their big day and help them plan the perfect romantic getaway afterward. It’s been such a rewarding journey so far.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! Starting a business without any guidance, limited resources and self-doubt was scary.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a makeup artist who specializes in soft glam and bridal looks that enhance my clients natural, beautiful features!

What really sets me apart is that I don’t just show up for the wedding day, I’m there for the whole experience. Brides are already juggling a million things, so being able to work with someone they trust for both beauty and travel takes a lot of stress off their plate.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
All of my makeup models that helped me build my portfolio, my friends cheering me on, and my clients who believe in me and the work that I do. I would not be where I am today without their trust and support.
