Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Hager.
Hi Chelsey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Chelsey Hager and my passion is photography. I have always like photography as far back as I can remember how ever the love for photography really started back in 2008 when my 1st son was born. At first I just wanted to capture the little moments of becoming a mother when it turned in to so much more. I would stay in 2013, I started doing sessions with family and friends who supported me without any real knowledge of what I was really doing. However they did not care, they loved my photography and wanted me to take photos for them! I have taught and contained to teach myself through out the years while capturing special moments for others. While I do a variety of portrait photography, I Also do Travel Photography. I love to travel to the Depths of the Earth and capture what many may never to see.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth yeah right, I would say far from it. Turning a dream into a reality has been rather tough actually. I currently work full time In Assisted living still working towards making Photography a full time job rather than just a hobby. For years I have struggled with the constant thought of my work not being good enough. As artist we are always the hardest on ourself and never see what others may see in our work. How ever my clients and fan base are what keeps me going and hopefully someday this wont be a dream anymore but MY REALITY.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have played around with many different types of photography over the years and have found a different love for each. My work mostly consist of portraits and Travel Photography! I wouldn’t say I specialize in just one thing for I am always trying to learn more in different areas. My primary mission, while behind the camera, is to capture the moments in life and set in stone those very frames that may otherwise be forgotten.
Any big plans?
Well at this point it’s hard to say, I would love to make photography my full time job. I am proud of the progress I have made in just this year alone, How ever I am still no where near where I want to be. My goal is travel more and to hopefully work with different brands in the future.
