Conversations with Christina Webb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Webb.

Christina Webb

Hi Christina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Christina Jolie Webb, and I am a 19-year-old pursuing my dreams in acting and modeling. I was born in Fort Myers, Florida, where I lived until the age of six. My family then moved to Michigan, where we stayed for several years. At the age of 10, we relocated to Cancún, Mexico, originally intending to stay for two years. However, what started as a short-term plan turned into an incredible eight-year chapter of my life.

While living in Cancún, I had the privilege of modeling for various hotels, clothing brands, and national parks. I also attended a private international school where I learned to speak Spanish and made lifelong friends. This period was pivotal in shaping my career and personal growth, as I was exposed to unique opportunities in the entertainment industry.

During my time in Mexico, I was fortunate to be part of notable projects, including a small role in Comedy Central Latin America’s series Teniente Harina and another in Netflix’s Somos, a series based on a true story. Although my roles were small, these experiences were monumental for me, and I am incredibly grateful to have been part of such projects.

Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a two-week acting course at Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Being surrounded by passionate individuals who shared my dreams and aspirations was truly inspiring and one of the highlights of my journey so far.

Currently, I am back in Florida, focusing on auditioning for short films and continuing to pursue my passion for acting and modeling. I am driven to make the most of life, pursuing my dreams on my own terms. None of this would be possible without the unwavering love and support of my parents, for whom I am eternally grateful.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
“It has mostly been a smooth journey, but balancing two part-time jobs can be quite time-consuming. I am constantly on the go, which sometimes leads to overworking myself. However, I’ve learned the importance of time management and self-care along the way. That said, I genuinely love what I do and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Currently, I work as a waitress and a barista. I truly enjoy both jobs, as the work environments are laidback and carefree, which suits me perfectly. However, these roles are temporary, as I’m on a gap year and love keeping myself busy. During this time, I’ve also been taking acting courses to improve my craft. Acting has always been my passion, and I’m determined to turn my dream into a reality.

When people describe me, they often mention my bubbly personality and constant energy. Whether I’m working, traveling, or participating in a short film, I’m always on the go. Some even know me as “la gringa loca” from my time living in Mexico, a nickname I wear with pride!

One of the things I’m most proud of is stepping out of my comfort zone to try new things. Taking risks can be scary, but I want to experience as much of life as possible. For example, I recently walked in my first runway show. I was nervous but mostly excited, and once I hit the runway, I was having the time of my life! This opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without a friend’s invitation, and I’m so grateful. The other girls on the runway were stunning and incredibly kind, and I loved getting to know them.

What sets me apart from others is my unique background. I’m an American who grew up in Mexico. Moving to Mexico at age 10 was a blessing in disguise. At first, I didn’t want to leave my school and friends in Michigan, but visiting the private school I would attend in Cancún changed everything. I was thrilled to wear a uniform. I know it sounds silly, but it made me so excited! I remember not wanting to take it off once we got it. Literally anything will make you excited as a kid.

On my first day of school, I was incredibly nervous. As I walked into the classroom, a girl waved at me and offered me a seat next to her. My face instantly lit up she became my first friend, and that small gesture made all the difference. It taught me that all it takes is one friend to make a place feel like home.

This background has shaped my approach to acting and life. Growing up in Mexico exposed me to new cultures, languages, and opportunities that helped me discover my passion for acting. I carry those experiences with me as I continue to pursue my dreams.

What’s next?
In the future, I plan to attend university and study abroad in London a city I absolutely adore! I can’t wait to immerse myself in its culture and vibrant atmosphere while pursuing my education. Moving abroad and living on my own will be a big change, but it’s a challenge I’m incredibly excited for. I’m looking forward to experiencing everything London has to offer and taking this next step toward my dreams!
