Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Schultz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started in E-Sports roughly in 2015, just playing games out of my bedroom and streaming on Twitch. At the time I didn’t really see myself having any future with gaming/E-Sports it was just an extremely part time hobby. I started taking it more seriously in about 2017 after I had moved and had the space to set up a whole desk and streaming “set up”. Around that time is when Fortnite was really taking off and that’s when it hit for me! I was absolutely addicted to the game and streaming! I would get up around 6am everyday and stream for close to 15 hours a day, I just couldn’t get enough!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! I don’t mean that in a bad way by any means but there is never going to be consistency in gaming, everything is always evolving and growing. You just have to be eager to adapt and grow with the wave of games or you will fall behind and lose out on big opportunities.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a professional E-sports content creator. What that entails in is I play video games and create content for social media (twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter) I am part of a professional E-sports team based in Las Vegas, Nevada called “Las Vegas Inferno” and they are the official E-Sports team of Las Vegas granted by the mayor. I have great memories of gaming but some of my biggest accomplishments in gaming would have to be when the Computer game Valorant launched in 2020 I instantly started playing alongside some of the largest creators on the platform called Mixer. People having 20,000-30,000 viewers at a time which was constantly helping me grow my popularity on the site. My second biggest accomplishment to this point is building a following of nearly 30,000 subscribers on YouTube.
I’d say what sets me aside from others in my position is I had a different look at things. I started when things were not growing fast at all, not everybody was looking to become a streamer or a YouTuber. Also, I have a very determined side but also an extremely goofy side. My content changes from day to day entirely with how much effort or fun I’m looking to have with what it is I’m doing.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I’d say the biggest thing that makes me happy currently would be my Son, my Dogs, and my wonderful girlfriend. They keep me grounded and help me worry about the smaller things going on around me. The unconditional love a pet and a young kid gives you, nothing can beat it! They give you nothing but affection and sometimes that’s all a person needs.
