Conversations with Isaiah King

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaiah King.

Hi Isaiah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I suppose I am most known for my photography portfolio. My inspiration for beginning my creative journey is interesting! I was leaving a friend’s birthday social in the city of Minneapolis. The weather was brisk and the streets were covered with that misty late night fog. I just remember walking and marveling at how beautiful the world was.

At that moment, I just knew I wanted to capture the beauties of life. Fast forward to two years later, and I’ve turned that night into my creative passion. Since then, I have had the honor of shooting all types of portraits, I’ve partnered with brilliant fashion minds, and I’ve created some dope memories with extremely talented artists. Through the hard work, consistency, and support of inspiring people, I have been able to grow quickly and produce great work. At a time where there is so much uncertainty and tribulations, this year has been relatively okay for me. I was able to successfully start my business and be considered for a strong amount of opportunities.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not been the smoothest. On top of maneuvering the pandemic, starting a business from the bottom is one of the most time-consuming and difficult things to do. There were plenty of times where business was slow, things weren’t moving, and I was unsure about it all. I always make the joke that “I stepped away from a 9-5 job; only to work 24/7.” Even though it hasn’t been the smoothest road, I don’t regret anything about starting a business. Waking up everyday doing what you love, creating fresh ideas, and following your passion is one of the most rewarding feelings.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have always loved everything fashion. In the words of one of the most prolific designers Coco Chanel, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” That is what I do. My career has evolved into fashion photography, fashion show management, model development, and more. I am most known by my wonderful colleagues and peers as a creative photographer. I have been very fortunate to work with inspiring and established creative minds. Aside from having my work published in numerous magazines, working and being recognized by the amazing creatives in the state is something that I am most proud of.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can continue supporting me on social media platforms. My handle is @iamisaiahking. I can also be reached at my website www.isaiahkingphotography.com.
